Damn I replied to your other post, but here's what I poste in it anyway:

No. I like the new stuff.
I don't think it's motivation they lack.
If that was the case then they would have retired long ago.
I think it's inspiration what they are lacking, hence why so many songs are about the same thing.
With the Have a Nice Day album I thought had some restored inspiration, Novocaine proves that Jon can lyrically hold his own against anyone when being inspired by a certain event.

Come on LeaJovi, are you taking my challenge?

If they had split-up 1995 or 96 we would have asked ourselves how it would have been if they released another album, did another tour, etc etc etc...
If they split up today we would do the same.
But for the name BON JOVI, for the way people will remember Bon Jovi, it would have been better if they split up then.
Now their new albums didn't bring anything, that doesn't means that the next album can't be great. Thinking that it would have been better if they stopped 1995 doesn't exclude buying their new stuff, hoping they did a good job. I seem to be disappointed each time but if one day they release a good album, all these disappointments will have been worth it.

But if they had split up there would be no new stuff to buy hoping that it was great.

Hey, you have it in your power to make it so that, for you at least, Bon Jovi split up in 95/96. Use that power or don't, your choice

Sorry I can't take the challenge. I Love the Boxset. And I WILL listen to Richie's solo records. And maybe to the BJ records.
Because that I might like some songs from this era doesn't mean that I don't think they shouln't have retired. Actually, I think they should've retired.
I totally agree with devilson BTW. I'm not from an english speaking country so he can explain the why much better

OK, so just never again listen to any songs from Crush, Bounce, TLFR, HAND, any songs that are demos from the sessions of any of those albums, Real Life, or any live version of any song from any of those albums. Richie's solo albums are allowed. Boxset songs from 95 and earlier are allowed. You can even listen to new albums if they are released. You just have to erase the whole 99-05 period from your life. What do you say?

I listen to Say It Isn't So, Next 100 Years, One Wild Night, Right Side of Wrong, Novocaine, Last Man Standing, One Last Cigarette, I Am ,Dirty Little Secret and No Regrets, Neurotica and maybe Temptation and Another Reason To Believe.

That's like 13 songs out of over 70 incuding demos. Do you think that is much or something?

I'd say yes, though really I don't care who retires when...

I was in a traffic jam for 2 hours this morning and got tired of HANDS, listened to TD instead and I realized it's the emotions, feelings, passion that I miss in Bounce, Crush and HAND. It was the passion that drew me in in the first place, now I find as much in BJ as I do in Kelly Clarkson and that is sad for me. ..

I am close

Just because a band retires, doesn't mean I can't continue what they still release. I'll buy the new Nirvana, even though I am pretty sure it won't have any good songs on it, but Nirvana and I have a special bond, just like BJ and I have --- a bond 95% of the posters here will never even come close to comprehend
