Hell no. Not just because I wouldn't a fan, but because I generally really like the later albums. They're not masterpeices by any means but I like them just the same.

Out of curiosity, thesedays, how long have you been a fan for?

That's true but luckily I have found that I HAVE still made those connections with Bon Jovi's newer albums. Not every single song but there is at least ONE song (and many times more than one) on releases like Bounce, Crush etc. that I feel have moved me. HAND has many.

So of course my vote is no! They should not have stopped in '98. We would have missed out on some great songs. And I truly believe that there are more great ones to come.

Keep the Faith!

The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

Stopped? No. By all rights, their three albums (CRUSH, BOUNCE and HAND) are in there own rights decent records. Bounce isn't really comparable to their past stuff as they were aiming for something different, Crush made the band more relevant to a modern audience, and HAND is actually my second favourite album of theirs. Are we saying they should just stop because they wrote an amazing album in Slippery that they will never top? Nope.

I agree with that. And of course, if they had stopped, I wouldn't have discovered their pre-Crush works.
Maybe it's just because I'm a fan since 2000... but I feel a strong link with Crush, Bounce and HAND, even if I recognise that these are not the best Bon Jovi albums ever. I still like them, and they remind me of really beautiful moments. I couldn't say the same with SWW (though I'd like to!!)

This question is very direct, very personal. I can understand people saying they should never stop. I think they are still a good live band therefore it's good they are around. Album-wise, thesy should have called it a day with These Days, but let's bee serious, how many artists would just say: "Oh **** those 50 million $$$ that I could still earn by doing something that I still like!" With Bon Jovi it's not a gamble anymore, they are on safe terrotory. Everything they will ever do will sell, will be profitable and that's why I think they will not stop.

If I would have liked them to stop? If the record company would have released all sorts of old concerts on DVD nd if we would have still got the songs from the box then yes. But as that doesn't seem to happen with other bands, see Guns n' Roses, I don't think it would have happened with Bon Jovi.

Conclusion: Good they are still around although they make us put up with songs like Who Says You Can't Go Home

And if they make 2 more of those crap albums they will mainly be remembered by

crush/bounce/hand/shit#4/crap#5 (I am nice forgetting own & tlfr)

instead of:

slippery/jersey/faith/crossroad/td

Wich one do you prefer?

I don't particularly care how other people remember them. If I went by a band having some legacy of greatness to pick what I listened to, I'd have to go delete 90% of my iTunes library.

I like old Bon Jovi. I like mid-period Bon Jovi. I like a significant portion of what they're putting it now, so I'm going to keep listening and buying and going to shows. No one is forcing you to do the same.

mmhmmm!

And Devil, it's so brave of you to put up with "Who says you can't go home". Such a traumatic experience, dealing with that. How DO you do it? But seriously, I'll never get why people bitch about the newer albums. If you didn't like the first two, why would you like the third?
