It's getting a bit old now but I'd rather hear it than you give love a bad name

they should mix it up a little and throw in some more covers. shout and rockin all over the world have been done to death by them.

I'd love to see them doing shook em all night long by ac/dc

I hear what you are sayin' but I love it when bands do cover songs!
It adds somethin' special and different to the show, IMO.
For example, I think BJ should start the next tour with a cover of "Sin City" by AC/DC! That would be f*ckin' brilliant!
I don't mind them doing covers, but the songs they're covering aren't a surprise anymore, and that's what coversongs should be in my opinion. Something extra, unexpected. During the KTF tours nobody expected Shout that much as people do now, not only the die hard fans now the "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell wait a minute baby", but even the casual fans sing along, which makes it boring. I've never been a fan of Shout though, Gloria is nice but I'd rather have them perform Bad Medicine without any cover song.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

To go back to the topic of when Shout was played first...

The first concert I own where shout was played is this one:

3/3/89 - Carrier Dome, Syracuse, NY

Aloha !

To my knowledge the first time Shout was performed was when the second leg of the "The Jersey Syndicate Tour" started in Europe :

December 1st, 1989, Palacio De Desportes, Madrid, Spain :

1.Lay Your Hands On Me
2.I'd Die For You
3.Wild In The Streets
4.You Give Love A Bad Name
5.Born To Be My Baby
6.Pink Flamingos
7.Let It Rock
8.Living In Sin
9.Blood On Blood
10.Livin' On A Prayer
11.I'll Be There For You
12.Runaway
13.Wanted Dead Or Alive
14.Summertime Blues
15.99 In The Shade
16.Bad Medicine
17.Shout

Back then it was played much faster and harder, though it indeed was the "hip of version" they do now.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

They should try more and heavier covers...

I'm tired of Shout, I'm tired of Rockin' all over the world, I'm tired of Dancing in the streets.....

Yes, it also was the version you were asking for. See the setlist:

3/3/89 - Carrier Dome, Syracuse, NY
Intro, Lay Your Hands On Me, I'd Die For You, Wild In The Streets, You Give Love A Bad Name, Tokyo Road, Born To Be My Baby, Pink Flamingos, Let It Rock, Runaway, Livin' On A Prayer, Ride Cowboy Ride, Wanted Dead Or Alive, Bad Medicine/Shout, Never Say Goodbye

I have 4 more shows from March 89 and there they did Shout at every show. But in my show from Miami in February 89, they didn't do Shout yet.
