Simon Cowell has put bands together such as Westlife, which are quite talentless, as they never seem to release anything but cover songs anymore, and all they where put together for was to get #1 tracks, thus making lots of money for the record company.

the context of his job is to make hit records and as a result lots of money for him and his label and he happens to do his job really well.

probably one of the few A&R men who can get a mortgage becausehes so consistent.

This guys has made a living out of negativity.
It's a shame he couldn't do something creative and positive to bring to the World - like Bon Jovi.

there's a difference between negativity and doing ur job. some people have what it takes, some people dont and some peopkle r utter shit and he just lets them know what they are theres no point fannying about and bubblewrapping people.

imagine ur mr cowwell k. my bro runs gigs in 1 venue in glasgow and has close to a hundred cd's in a couple of weeks just from bands wanting to play it and most of it is shite. now imagine that r simon and ur top man in a very succesful record company except close to a 100 u have tens of thousands of cds full of shite coming in every single day. theres only so much u can do before u can outright come out and say go back to mcdonalds or wherever u came from.

people seem to get the whole idea that people like simon cowwell and simon fuller et al have crap taste in music, they don't but they realise that theres a big difference between a band being good and a band being good enough to sell.

hes been at it for years, not many people in his line of work get that far so u cant say he doesnt know his shit when it comes to sellign records.

The guy is famous for being a bastard. If he was nice to people he would not be all over the papers and on the TV.

No, I think that Jim Bon Jovi was right...he tells them the truth. If they come in and they can't sing, why sugar coat it? If you tell them things like "I'm sorry but you're not what we're looking for" or whatever esle, they will think they are good, and keep trying...but the truth is most of these people are crap. They think they are good but they are not.

I'm curious why he is so nasty about Jon though; Jon can sing, has had a great 20 year career and will more than likely be around long after any of the "bands" that Simon Cowel manages.

I like Simon. He is honest and quite amusing sometimes. You can't take everything he says to heart though. He is only one guy. Who really cares how he feels about BJ?
