Jon's voice is just as shot as it is today. Something must have happened between '99 and '02 to make him do TLFR. That album was definately done or certain hit songs were definately chosen in order for him to perform them live. Look at all the songs on that album. They are the ones we hardly hear live anymore. Or when we do, we wish we didn't.

The question is, what happened? And when did it happen?

Listen to Jon sing of a few of those tracks from the link above. His voice sounds no different from today.
Yes it does sound different, he's able to hit way higher notes than today/on the last tour.

Oh c'mon, that is light years better (though not perfect either) than the other one from 2013... At least his voice sounds clear and crisp, although he doesn't hit every note (or completely f*cks up some), whereas on the last tour he sounded like he had too much spit in his mouth or something like that...
