Willy the worms and Polly the parrot, that would have been original, everyone knows it's inspired by Bowie. There's nothing wrong 'bout being inspired by Bowie, he's great, but I disagree with you that the title is, experimantal, clever and that it takes a lot of creativity and inspiration to come up with a title like that.
I don't think that just because it's influenced or inspired by something it's precluded from being either original or creative. Everything is influenced by something. The song is exploring new avenues for the band, therefore it is experimental

Don't get me wrong, ofcause everything is inspired by something from the past, but the title, Cpt. Crash... that's not original.
I could make a hundred titles based on other songs or album
I do agree that the song itself has some new elements that we had not heard from the Jovi camp, musical speaking.

Boring song and it's clear that Jon & Richie stole a lot of it from Bowie. For example the guitar riff ad the chord structure, the whole feel of the song. Like Ziggy Stardust & All The Young Dudes together.

My thoughts exactly. I've seen 5 concerts and 3 of them included Capt. Crash. It pains me to think of the better songs I've missed because it was on the setlist.

I'm with Ice on this one. I go to a lot of concerts and I have learned to tolerate it in the setlist because I know it will be played. As a song though it's derivative (see Bowie) and mostly boring. I think the audience reaction is actually better than the song since most people seem to like it.
