Well, I'm not the frontman and three of you just jumped on me for having an opinion. I get sick of people accusing me of hating Richie because I don't like his voice. I love my friend Kelly and I don't want to listen to her sing either!

I'm sorry if you got the impression of me jumping on you.

Okay. Just remember what I think of Richie as a person is separate from what I think of Richie as a singer/solo artist.

So, is it only the singing style that makes you loathe Richie's solo stuff, Becky? Ie, do you like the BJ version of Rosie but not Richie's because of the voice? Or is it also the songwriting style?

Some of each. I wasn't a big fan of the Rosie demo even with Jon's vocals. I don't like the songwriting/arrangement/music itself on some of his stuff (Made in America, Rest in Peace, River of Love, You Are Not Alone). But I do like some of the songs like Stranger and One Light Burning, which is my favorite of all his songs. The first time I heard Richie singing lead vocals was a tape that someone had sent me with a lot of artists I'd never heard before and she included Wind Cries Mary. I didn't know the old version of the song and when Richie started singing I said, "What is this shit?" and looked to see what the song was, then I felt really guilty. LOL But that was my honest reaction.

Yeah I prefer the solo albums to the recent Jovi material. I would say DA is probably my favourate solo album followed by Stranger, but all the solo albums are good.

My fav solo album is DA followed by jointly SITT and Blaze, then I would place HAND behind those but in front of US.

I don't want to be accused of jumping on anyone and seriously I'm not everyone is entitled to their own opinion but Richie's version of Wind Cries Mary is awesome but then I love the guitar solo's in it. I can see why some wouldn't like his voice on SITT as he sings everything at full tilt on there. I like it but some won't, on US though I think he sings really well, much more laid back. I wasn't the biggest fan of Undiscovered Soul until I saw him on tour and the songs just came alive. Blistering lengthy blues solos in each one, he was just incredible that night. The best show I have ever seen by anybody, his singing was just as impressive. I love the album now.

Blaze Of Glory is also a brilliant album but I never listen to Destination Anywhere, I thought it was ok when I first heard it but now I just can't stand it.

All in all SITT, US and BOG are all better than anything post These Days but not DA. To paraphrase Becky I'd rather listen to TLFR or even OWN.
