Some people say the responce is "'Cuz she can't swim" or "Cuz she can't swing" or even "Cuz she can't sing". No one really knows.

I've just tried messing with it, splitting the channels out and stuff but I can't tell, it does sound like one of those 3 that Captain_jovi suggested but I don't know which.

This has been discussed earlier and I posted soundfiles that were EQed so that you could hear it clearly. The only logical version is "cause she can't swim".

Actually, 'cause she can't swim would fit.

There's a drinking game where you drop 20p into someones pint and shout "SAVE THE QUEEN" - you have to down your pint so the Queen doesn't drown. Failure to do so results in the death of the Queen and you being branded a fag.


Who knows, maybe Jon & Richie were introduced to this game circa These Days

I always thought it was "God save the king" then Richie asks Why, and Jon says "Cause you can't swing". Nobody else hears that?

I just listened to it at full volume in my mp3 player again and again. He says "she cant swim" if you ask me.
