Some DJ ranting about how much Bon Jovi sucks

He's talking about SWW turning 30 and how much Bon Jovi has always sucked and he doesn't understand why they are acclaimed now.

Was it really a clever move to drive away (almost) all the users who actually contributed something to the board, so now we're stuck with random DJs providing opinions to get something to talk about?

There are plenty of active members (nearly 200). The "Hopes/Expectations in 2016" thread has a view count near 7000 and had quite a few active members posting and discussing in it. You can't MAKE people post... but the members are out there because the threads are being viewed and when there is a topic of interest, it garners discussion.

If you've got a great topic, by all means, post it...

The # of active members is there to see at the bottom of the opening page. I assume everyone can see it. Look for yourself.

That was entertaining in its own way. I think the guy is full of sh!t on a couple of counts though.

Bon Jovi are not critically acclaimed. Over the past 10-15 years, the critics have realised that they will always have some sizable following and aren't just a fad. They've endured through four decades and, like the music or not, there is no point in slating it. However, none of their albums get much favourable comment and it never will.

I had to laugh when they pretended that they didn't know any Jovi songs beyond Prayer, Wanted and "that roses song". I call bullsh!t. Anyone who lived through the 80s knows Bad Medicine, Bad Name, Lay Your Hands on Me, Always and It's My Life at an absolute minimum. I know people who are indifferent towards Bon Jovi and people who hate them and they all know those songs. For this fella, a music journalist no less, to claim he doesn't is not believable. That fact that he could sing Runaway elsewhere in the rant just adds to my argument.

Anyway, nothing in here that we haven't heard before but worth a listen if you have a few minutes.
