I've read it too but I can't recall where. I remember Richie saying that he wrote Never Say Goodbye about his high school prom/friends. It's also a huge misconception that Jon wrote I'll Be There For You (despite Jon and Richie both being credited) and wrote it for Dorothea.

Oh yeah, I heard that one of Jon who wrote 'IBTFY' for Dorothea, but I remember someone calling it a 'Richie-song' or something...? Anyway, It'd be interesting to know into which song which band member contributed what. *confusing sentence* I'm a big fan of Richie's lyrics, 'Stranger' is masterful.

I've heard Jon talking about writing IBTFY for his or "this girl" as he called her, so I don't think it's a "huge misconception" that he had a major hand in it. Chose to believe what you want though. None of us were with Jon and Richie when they wrote it, so we can only go by what we hear.

Richie said he wrote it and it was a real situation, where the girl (some say it was Cher) was leaving, standing by the door with her suitcases packed.

I searched for an hour or so but have come up with no evidence at all to prove the claim that Jon boy has cheated. Thus, I have come to the conclusion it is all bull.

However, the guy who wrote the article is right on everything else - but he makes a heck of a lot of assumptions.

Jon himself has admitted it several times.

He is very discreet and so are the women No picking up groupies or women in bars..
