okay just the ones that i could be bothered checking, but a substantial sample of songs written only by jon and i believe it clears up the songwriting bullshit

excellent songs, he would need to be very consistent at stealing wouldn't he! we fans know the lyrics to these and why we like them so much and lets be honest with each other, they lead us to understanding how jons mind works.

something to believe in
santa fe
miracle
blaze of glory
hearts breaking even
always
bed of roses
dry county
i want you
woman in love
livin in sin
wild in the streets
destination anywhere
its just me
little city etc etc

realistically i'm sure many more of our favourites have been heavily contributed or some almost completely written by jon

I don't care about songs - song lyrics can be interpreted in any way you like. It doesn't mean a thing unless you hear it straight from the horses mouth, which is what I consider to be proof. I have only come across cheap tabloid claiming he admitted he cheated, and I don't believe a word they say.

Is there any actual, concrete proof? It seems that all you guys think that he's been less than perfect, but when I can't find proof...it's understandable I'm a little sceptical.

Matrix - Letting You Go was one of the best songs on TD - not my fave, but still a bloody brilliant song, on a bloody brilliant album. Shame it didn't do better!

Do you really think you'll find "concrete" proof? Is there concrete proof of anything the man has done? All you have are hearsay and you have to choose if you believe it or not. It's not like there are photographs of him ****ing another woman or a sex tape.

He's a rockstar, well used to be anyway, away from home for months, even years at a time and always surrounded by beautiful women. It would be naive to think he didn't take advantage of that and like others have said, he's addmitted to it in many interviews, most done in the early 90s, so they're not on the web.

Did he ever say "I've cheated on my wife", no. Who would say that to a stranger? But did he imply it? Yes, many times.

There have been numerous interviews with Jon, in respectable magazines where Jon has essentially said they came to an understanding about how they've come to understanding about it, as long as he always comes home to her. It was posted on here, I'll see if I can find the topic.

I would like to have a read of that.

@Iceman - is it fair to assume that every big rock star cheats on their wife? I think it's unfair to assume that just because someone is surrounded by women, that they'd take advantage of that. I don't know what he's done but if he has, he doesn't seem like the sort to even imply it.
He keeps his family to himself - you don't see his wife or kids in the magazines, so that makes me think his private life is private, and that he wouldn't do anything to jeopardize that.

That's just my opinion though.

Yeah, but as Ice said, the interviews were done about two decades ago - he's not the same person he used to be.

Would he admit it now? Probably not as he is far too obsessed with a clean-cut image to want that kind of stigma attached to himself or the band.

And he loves his money too much to have to go through a divorce and lose half.

I remember he said Superman Tonight was about a girl he kinda had a crush on her (I dont remember if he said it with these words...), and that he wished he wasnt married to "help" her...
well, it doesnt mean he cheated on her (at least recently)...but that interview where he says he's was never a saint (regarding his marriage)...I think it says it all.

I know Jon wrote all those songs, but I was wondering about Richie's contribution, not Jon's. It's not a 'JON'S-AN-ASSH*LE-HE-CAN'T-WRITE-TYPE-ALL-GLORY-TO-RICHIE' type of post I made. I know some people feel like that on this board, but I'm not one of them. I am, however, more of a Richie fan in the solo album department, I don't know why. I liked a few songs off both Jon's albums, but I guess I just liked Richie's more. *shrugs* That's why I thought it'd be interesting to see what his contribution in the context of the band is with the songs.
