If Bon Jovi looked like Iron Maiden would people be so into them? Methinks not
Hmm... I post over at BS. You think I'm stupid? I have more education right now under my belt than you have, including college, other course work and life experience. The fans at BS are having a good time. Many of those women have been very busy raising their children, like your mom, not having time for themselves to just get away from the daily chores of life. How nice that Jon and the other members of the band provide a momentary escape. We are not stupid and certainly appreciate the music. No one would stick around for 20 years if the music sucked, and we all know that some of the music has sucked! I'm sure there are fans here that have the same comments about Jon. I certainly wouldn't expect an 18 year old guy to get his rocks off looking at Jon ripping open his shirt (unless he were a gay man). You don't think Jon goes for the reaction? There has to be some fun in it for him. He's good looking and knows it. Afterall, you don't get to be so good looking without working at it. Daily exercise/weight training, porcelained teeth, hair color, chic hair style, designer clothing.... you get the picture. He WORKS at looking good. Sometimes I think the young male fans (not specifically just you) make an extra effort to point out only the music and not just the looks for fear that fans might think they are actually LOOKING at Jon. Relax. You can appreciate the good looks of the same sex.

Oh, and for the fan that mentioned it, yes, I did notice Jon's voice cracking and not being able to hit some of the notes during These Days. You sing for 2+ hours in the heat, 2 nights in a row and let me know how your vocal chords can handle it. It's certainly not the same as sitting in a climate controlled studio doing take after take for perfection. Cut the guy some slack!

You're not the one who can judge about others life experience. And being educated does not mean you're a smart person. I think Mr. Bush has got a lot of education, a lot of life experience but still the majority thinks he's stupid.

How nice that Jon an....blablabla...blablabla...zzzz....edit....zzz. ... Relax. You can appreciate the good looks of the same sex.
Yes it's very nice of Jon and the band...blablablabla...I see it this way. When a fan sees such an internet broadcast he or see should be saying something about the music first. But no...over there a lot of so called fans start saying they wanted him to ripp his shirt off...Are they going for the looks or are they going for the music then ?

That has got nothing to do with it. It was just sung badly. You can't handle the comment, we are just saying it was sung badly. What's your problem with us saying such things ?

You're a 19 year old kid from the Netherlands. Please don't speak about MY President. I live here and can do that for myself. The majority of Americans do not think he is stupid. Put yourself through 4 years of college and come out at the top of your class as I did and then you can call me stupid. There are over 10,000 fans registered at BS. You read the comments of perhaps 20 women, comments that they are entitled to make. Don't lump the entire BS fan community into one. As far as These Days, yes, it wasn't the best performance and I did notice that as I said. I can handle the comment. I will even say that half the songs on Bounce are SH**. Sure I winced when Jon missed the notes, however, overall it was still great to see Jon sing it. The band listened to the fans and played what we wanted to hear. Do you expect to hear perfection during a live performance? It's not going to happen. There are too many variables that make perfection impossible. You want perfection? Sit home and listen to the CD.

The problem is that some people do nothing other than criticize Jon's voice. Why is this a problem? Because it is hard to take them seriously when they never have a nice thing to say. When a person makes a habit of repeating the same things over and over, you start to tune them out because you already know what to expect.

Yeah, Jon sounded worn out last night, but sometimes he is great. People are not perfect no matter how much they get paid to be. Such is life.

So, in answer to your question, yeah, it's fine to say it, as long as you don't keep repeating it time and time again..performance after performance. Well, not you Super in particular, but you get my point.

So you think that when I'm 19 years old I do not know enough about the world situation ? I follow the news, and then I do not mean the USA promoting CNN channel, and I do know what's going on in the world. People in the US thought Bush was stupid untill Bush started a major promotion campagn, suddenly CNN was all about Bush and it's statements and so on. During the war in Iraq we had big discussions about it over here and on other forums, and most people thought Bush was stupid.

I've already had 4 years of college, and I am now studying. Next year will be my third year. When I finished college I was one of the best finalists of school. So now I can call you stupid I think...

What's your whole point anyway ? I am just quoting some things from backstage, and even the topic says "SOME reactions from backstage about the show." I am not saying "Those are the reactions from backstage."

And about the performance being bad. It was bad. Jon knows that he blows his voice when he does 2 gigs after eachother and I'm sure I'd be pissed off if I got a show like this. But your answer will probably be that I should be gratefull that I got my show and that there are people that do not get any shows...What's your whole point anyway ? The entire discussion wasn't about the show being bad, it was about SOME reactions from backstage.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I didn't. Check my reviews from the shows I went to. I think I wrote one for Gelsenkirchen and one from Amsterdam.

You go Cathy!! And for the record I am a 45 year old professional nurse with multiple advanced practice certifications in my field and have a consulting practice consulting to attorneys and insurance companies. I have given expert testimony in courtrooms across the USA which has resulted in million dollar plus verdicts for disabled children with catastrophic injuries. I am a published author and sought after speaker in my field. I have two active teenage girls who are gifted academically and active in drama and equestrian activities. But prefer to hang out with the "stupid people" at Backstage who like to have fun because I want to enjoy my life. Sure Jon strained on the higher notes- but as many of you pointed out he did in 1995 at Wembley too. Not an easy song to sing. My daughter has had professional vocal instruction and she finds his range in the 80's songs almost incomprehensible.
