And why do you thank a band for just doing their thing ? If they'd give free concerts I'd thank them, but you just buy their stuff, the only thing that is different about Bon Jovi is that you apreciate their music much more.

Do you say thank you when a waiter brings you a glass of water without you asking for it? They're just doing their thing too. Bon Jovi might just be doing "their thing", but they don't have to. If they wanted to call it quits tomorrow, that's their prerogative. They aren't obligated to keep making music and churn out albums and fly all over the world to push themselves for 2 hours onstage. They're not obligated to devote 20 years of their lives to that. You don't think that deserves a thank you?

Has there ever been a Bon Jovi song, or even a verse that touched you or spoke to you or made you think? I can't even begin to count how many times I stuck the inspirational lyrics Jovi is known for all over the place so I would see them and be reminded that I WILL survive whatever ordeal I was going through at the moment. Whether it was my grandfather's death or my mother's abuse or my ongoing battle with depression, Bon Jovi has helped me cope, even if it was just by me getting lost in their music for a while. And I thank them for providing the music and letting me forget my problems.

Music can be a very powerful tool, and maybe nothing like this has happened for you, but it has for a lot of others. Who are you to ridicule? If you are one to sit back and wait for the world to cater to you, ("If they'd give free concerts I'd thank them") then you have no right to judge anyone else.

A waiter also doesn't need to do that job for over 20 years, you don't say thank you because he keeps doing it. But of course, I know a waiter hasn't affected your life like Bon Jovi does.

But Bon Jovi isn't doing it for us, Bon Jovi does it for themselves. They don't make albums and tour because they do it for the fans, they do it for themselves.

Yes, Keep The Faith did that for me. But I'm not thanking them for that. It's just a good song they wrote, but why would I thank them ?

Ah, personal assumptions. Just because something "looks" a certain way to you doesn't mean it's necessarily true. Live and let live.

No -- I'm not saying that it "looks" any particular way. I'm not assuming anything. I read her post, appreciated it for what it was worth, and moved on.

Where did I exactly say that?

Okay, here are my assumptions which I made after reading your replies for the thread: You take too many things for granted. It's because basically everything was handed to you and you haven't had any need to fight your fate. Taking things for granted isn't good.
