Default "Somebody Take Me To The Sea"...?!

I pretty much listen to the Hard Rock Calling show everyday as its one of my favourite performances. However 1 always bugs me.

Between RYH and Bad Name Jon says "Somebody take me to the sea"...its also said on a few other live tracks.

Does anyone know what on earth it means - seem really random!

(You can tell its a Sunday and i'm bored)

Cheers!

It's a reference to the key (C) that Bad Name is in.

and thank god for it... he and richie always used to seem to do it without pitching and the intro would be in a completely different key to the rest of the song... sounds awful.

I never thought about it like that, good call! I always wondered why they had that little build up intro most times.

Have you got any examples? Jon uses an in-ear reference note for the a capella intro to Prayer so it would be strange for them not to have used something like that prior to to free-time intro they always use for Bad Name.

Well, it's really B, with all the tuning down bollocks

Isn't it just half a step? I'll admit it sound more catchy than "TAKE ME TO THE B SHARP!!"

There is no such thing as a B sharp or C flat. So yes, it would be in the key of B.
