it´s not one of my alltimefavorites, but its a good song. i like the Jon/Richie duett-thing in the middle of the song. i give it a 3/5.

I didn't really care for the song when it came out. The "c'mon c'mon c'mon" bit put me off..I wasn't the crazy about the chorus. But I did like the verses for the most part and and the actual music is good.

The video didn't help it though.

I think it is a perfect part

I don't give BJ enough credit to actually take the piss on grunge. In any which way.

I don't either. Especially when you consider the context of the entire album.

I must say that I've come to like the song much more than when it first came out. It wound up pretty much describing what I was going through in the months following 9-11 while I was adrift..without my own place. just my car and a few posessions like my clothes, stereo, computer...feeling very alone. For example:

Lonliness has found a home in me
My suitcase and guitar are my only family
I tried to need someone just like they needed me
I opened up my heart but all i did was bleed

I was also recovering from a bad relationship during those days. So that entire verse nailed what I was going through.

Love this song and its lyrics. I used to skip Hey God - don't anymore - so this was how These Days started for me for quite a while

Oh, and I still hold my breath for that bit towards the end where Jon and Richie sing together the slow bit. Adore that!!

Love it. No matter how many times I play it, it still sounds fresh and timeless. The lyrical content is quite depressing but does have a hint of optimism and the music is very upbeat which makes it the perfect suppliment for someone who is down and need lifting up.
