Yeah but there was a better live version on b-side of the Lie To Me single. I remember getting the single for a friend around that time and copying it before giving it to her. It started with Jon saying something like "As you probably know we've got a new album out, and this is our new single. It's a lot of fun, it's called Something for the Pain." I don't know if those are the exact words, but if anyone has that version could you please PM me because I've lost the version I copied onto cassette back in 1996?

I *used to* but the amazing thing is that the song grew on me without even listening to it! One fine day I forgot to skip it and and said "hey, what's wrong with this song?".

Lesson: I try not to skip songs systematically now

I'm not a great fan of this song. There are times when I enjoy listening to it, but times I skip it. For me, the sound didn't fit with what made These Days great.

Didn't Jon say not too long ago that he now thinks this songs is the greatest load of sh*te he ever made?

In any case, I like it. Never really loved it, but somedays I like it more then others. Very good lyrics, music is a bit...... I don't know, weird in a way.

Different is the word you're looking for. Bon Jovi experimented with this one and in my opinion it worked.

That's exactly the word I was looking for!

I don't know why but I always got this counrty vibe from it, which kinda puts me off it.

I hated it when I got the album and still do to this day, I always skip this one and Diamond Ring. I'm sure there's a couple of others I skip as well but I haven't listened to These Days for ages although it is one of my favourite Jovi albums.

I skip that song all the time. I don't think it's that great.

I don't give BJ enough credit to actually take the piss on grunge. In any which way.
Isn't that what the second verse of These Days does? Maybe not take the piss exactly, but certainly take a shot at.
