You go with whatever you like Becky, whether it be lyrical content, a great guitar solo, etc. I do agree with you that the lyrics do sound a lot more serious, and are sometimes better with the slow songs. The reason for this could be that you have more time to consider and take note of what has been said before the next line is sung.
