Isn't that strange??? that the band will be receiving this when they are celebrating their 20th anniversay??

That was the impression I initially got too. I had seen a story on Extra or Entertainment Tonight the other night where they said "Jon Bon Jovi" will be receiving the award. I even commented that I hoped it was the whole band, not just Jon. I figured it was just the media reducing Bon Jovi to Jon as they always seem to do though.

According to the Oompas it is the whole band, not just Jon.

I think the reason that you don't see bands like Zep or U2 is because the are not American bands and it is the American Music Awards. The one that isn't on there that surprised me is Aerosith, I would have thought they would have already gotten one.
