It was. ASCAP does have two different songs with the same title (https://www.ascap.com/Home/ace-title-search/index.aspx and search for it), but both have Desmond and Jon as writers. Granted, we haven't heard the newer version, but I'm willing to bet they have the same chorus or some portion. So basically it would be a rewrite. I have no proof, just my intuition. But I'd still like to hear it.

It's amazing how many new faces pop up once something like this happens.

It makes you wonder how many people actually stalk out this board on a regular basis.

It's between non-members coming on here just to lurk for such things and old members who no longer post but come here do the same as non-members.

It's ironic that we got 2 new Richie songs and no one really gave a shit and as soon as there is one with Jon on vocals, this place blows up.

I bet if this was a free song on e-bay, no one would give shit. Or give as much of a shit.

No, it's not. It's the fact that this is a forbidden fruit. If this was released as a free download like the Richie songs, it would be discussed with the same enthusiasm. Now that we CAN'T have it, everyone wants it. It's just human nature. If it was a studio quality CD of NJ and Slippery demos, everyone would be crazy about it, because it's not available anywhere. And everyone already has those songs.

As to lurking members, there are a lot. I've been one myself and am tempted to do so even now, because of these new members like yourself.

Hm! You may be right, My gut is telling me it's just a recycled song title. Jon has more often reused a title, albeit not to this extent, then re-work something already released. I'd love to actually hear it.

I've been a member under this name since 2008 which is 5 years old. I wouldn't consider that new. I was also a member under a different name from 2003 to 2007. Lost interest in this board for a while because of people like you. Forgot my password and had to rejoin.
