I hate when Jon considers him a "Special Guest". The only reason why more than 20 people know who he is, is because of Jon. To me, he's a washed-up wanna be Bruce Springsteen who had a year or 2 of modest success thanks to Bruce and still has his name floating around thanks to Bruce and Jon. 90% of the people at his shows are only in hopes of Jon or Bruce being there.

Sorry, didn't mean to go off topic. I'm just annoyed because Bomboozle tickets went on sale and they are, of course, ridiculously high. Bon Jovi are announcing "Special Guest" and I'm sure as shit it aint Bruce. In Asbury Park, Bruce would not be a Special Guest to Bon Jovi. He would just come out and do his own thing..... SSJ being Jon's "Special Guest" is the only way that washed up weasel could get to play at such an event.
That is a LOT of hate over an artist you simply don't care for.

I'm with you on that one. Never heard of SSJ till that idiot started jamming on Jovi tours. It must just be a case that they were JBJ's childhood idols in the 70s, inspired a lot of his songwriting & him keep putting them in the spotlight pointlessly is JBJ's way of showing some sort of gratitude, and still living his dream-jamming with SSJ.

Personally I'd rather jam with Jedward

I know where you're coming from with this but i wouldn't exactly call it blatant - slightly similar i think

Talking of Def Lep comparisons, which intro came first....

Jovi's 'I want you' or Def Leps 'Have you ever needed someone so bad'

They were both dated 1992 I think.

now they are very similar!

According to Wiki:

Def Leppard Adrenalize - released 31 March 1992, recorded 1989-1991
Bon Jovi Keep the Faith - released 3 November 1992, recorded Jan-Aug 1992

So Def Leppard first it would appear.

While on Def Leppard, I always thought Pour Some Sugar on Me and Lay Your Hands On Me were similar with their drum riffs... complete with the ol' "HEY!" in between each riff break.

Very mildly, but it's something I've always picked up on. Im not saying one stole it from the other... they just remind me of one another.

I never picked up on the I Want You/Have You Ever Needed intros though, until now. They are similar indeed!

Certainly similar but neither are original enough to be a rip.

Every now and again I hear Jovi songs as a marriage of two other songs.

Put the boy back in cowboy = Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls + Big And Rich'sSave a horse ride a cowboy

Last Man Standing = Don Henley's Boys of Summer + Bob Seger's Turn the Page.

Anyone have other examples?

Queen of New Orleans (guitar riff) = Foo Fighter's Hey Johnny Park

...which came out around the same time. I think HJP came out before, but I don't think there was enough time to rip it off.

On the other hand, (like previously mentioned) August 7, 4:15 is the most blatant thievery IMO. It was recorded the same way they covered Rocking in the Free World on the previous tour (holding the A chord before going into verse progression).

Next runner up I'd say is Novocaine vs. MCR's I'm Not Okay.

I've NEVER thought that before about Queen. Interesting!! I def. hear it but don't think it was intentional whatsoever.
