Default Jon On Stage

Hi. I've got a doubt and I'm asking you for help. I've seen five live gigs of this great band. The last one 7 years ago, in Madrid. Jon was an excellent frontman. He knew how to drive his fans wild. But now, I've seen their last live concerts on video. Jon doesn't move like he used. He's more or less quiet, in front of the microphone, killing bugs with his right leg and catching air with his left hand. It seems to me that Jon has some kind of problem and he can't move like he did it. Any disease?. I've heard something about allergy. Rheumatism perhaps?. Or simply his age?. Certainly, Jon isn't the same now on stage. Can anybody give me an answer? Am I in a mistake?.
Thanks a lot.

Jon does have tendonitis in both of his knees stemming from a car accident in the early 80's. Years of wear and tear have damaged his knees more and he's had surgery on one of them. When I've seen the band perform, he always is moving about unless he's playing his guitar. It doesn't seem that his knees affect his performance too much, but I'm sure he has bad nights as anyone with those kind of problems would.

It's funny that you mentioned the Madrid show because Jon has talked about it and how sick he was that night and that they cut the show short and it was a terrible performance. It's interesting to hear a fan's opinion compared to Jon's!

I don't know which show you've seen on video but if it was the Crush-Tour-Video the reason why Jon wasn't moving that much then is, that he had a knee surgery short time before the tour.

During the OWN-Tour he was running around and stuff more again.
