Default Star Man

I was just searching on the internet and found an old audio archive about the book Star Man, an the author Micheal Francis says he sold the book to Dreamworks to make it a movie. Wonder what Jon thinks of this? I don't have the book but I would love to hear some stories that are in it.

The book is interesting if you like biographies. It's not a book about Jon or Bon Jovi but an autobiography of the bodyguard who also worked for other bands. About 1/3 of the book is about BJ, the rest is about anything else. The book starts in the youth of Michael Francis and ends with him quitting the job as a bodyguard.

To be honest, I don't think that the stuff is that interesting for a big movie company as Dreamworks is who usually wants to make movies that are blockbusters.

Not true. DreamWorks SKG has produced about 100 movies and I for one would already struggle to name a quarter of it being actual blockbusters.
It is only the name that makes you think blockbusters is all they do, but it's not.

i read extracts from that book in a magazine. he was their bodyguard and also worked for kiss and some other bands in the 80s, and in the bits ive read he talks about the "sex, drugs, rock n roll" kinda stuff that happened. theres something called "the shark incident" when he and jon went scuba diving and were chased by a shark, theres also the time when they nicked bubbles the chimp, and the time tico nicked a golf cart and crashed it into the sea or something like that. it was months ago, i cant remember it all.

Star Man is an excellent read! Not only does it have juicy bits about Bon jovi they would NEVER telease themselves - things like sex roimps, drugs, et - it is also an interesting take on fame and it's ramifications. Very, very enjoyable first hand account of the music industry...
