I like this reply from that same message board:

I *love* the "Strum As You Are" title -- too funny, especially knowing the history that Nirvana has had on hair band music. Kinda like a throwback to that, saying "Look, we're still around, and we can rock even if the instruments are stripped down." Nice.

It's what he's written in the backstage newsletter. You're right, it might just be a joke and there's no final title yet. Even if it turns out to be the title, it's just a title. The music is first.

ugly, its meant to be a reference to Nirvana, hence it should remind EVERYONE of come as you are....

Album titles really are unimportant. I could care less what it was called. I got excited when I read that it was containing brand new songs plus greatest hits, and was 15 tracks total

By the way, I think "come as you are" was already an expression/cliche before Nirvana made it into a song, but we always assosciate it with Nirvana. And yes, "Strum As You Are" is kind of silly sounding and it does kind of sound like Jon is naming it that in spite of Nirvana... but like someone else said, I doubt this will end up being the final title Then again, it's going to be released this November so they've probably all agreed on this already.

At first I was like, "Why didn't they poll us to see what we thought for the title?" But I knew as soon as Jon announced it would be "Strum As You Are", half the people would go "I LOVE that title (because Jon loves it)" and it would end up winning anyway. Hey, it happened with Bounce :P
