I also saw them at the MK bowl that weekend. The show was broadcast live on radio one and a few weeks ago I came across the recording - I saw them there in '89 and thought the '93 show wasn't as good, but now having heard it again it was IMO an fantastic gig

Sunday 19th September 1993 MK Bowl.

The day started with the Manic St Preachers - whom I immediately fell in love with and went out and bought Generation Terrorists and Gold Against The Soul the next day.

Little Angels - Ive always loved these. I see them as the UK version of Bon Jovi. Juvenille offender is one of my favourite all time track and solos.

Billy Idol - Ok not amazing but it gave me the chance to see Steve Stevens on guitar. Amazing.

then...the one and only............BON JOVI

From opener I Beleive to closer Ill Be There For You it was (for me) their best ever live performance. Never seen such perfection, passion and energy.

My best gig ever.

Obviously I wasn't at this gig, being only 6 and all, but I just wanted to chime in with how fantastic a venue the MK Bowl is. Would love to see the band there again, sadly im not sure if it will ever happen now.

What was the weather like? Doing an outdoor UK gig in September is pretty risky!

The shows in the 90's were nothing short of amazing. Even on nights where they weren't on their absolute A-game they were still lightyears ahead of where they are now.

It was a good day on the saturday, deffo sunny. 87 at Donington in august was a miserable drizzly day and MK in 89 was red hot so much so that when Europe were on the sun was behind the stage and we couldn't watch them properly as there was no backdrop.

What an amazing line-up-wish I could have been there! Little Angels are my all-time favourite band alongside Bon Jovi and I also love the Manics.

I remember sitting and listening to the radio broadcast on the sunday night (I think?) and absolutely loving it. At the time I had never been to a concert (I was 14) and I vowed that Bon Jovi would be my first gig. In the end they were my second ever gig, Meat Loaf beat them by a few months.
