Well I cant really comment on Jons voice as the band havent toured here in oz for decades really so I havent been to shows and repeat performances to really know. I do understand and empathise with those going to the same show different day each time. I for one never wanna see a live version of bad medicine/shout thing again. Id at least like the videos to be original.

Now onto what StoneDeaf was saying about the boxset. I still dont have this.. not released till I think tomorrow here. Anyhow I dont think he was saying that its crap initself. It could even be good and it probably is. I think the whole concept is great. But there is a certain irony in that they are the songs that were considered the rejects and now they have all been heaped together to make a boxset. That doesnt as Stone said take much effort from the band itself. Its not like they suddenly wrote all those classics and are back in fine form. One has to hope that the next album is a lot better than crush/bounce.. the boxset is no indication of how they will sound next album musically.

Some of those songs are considered rejects just because they didn't fit with the overall theme of the album at the time. That isn't to say that they aren't great songs, therefore a lot of these so called "rejects" are actually pretty good, if not better than what was actually released. The explanation of not releasing "Miss 4th of July" is the fact that the band thought it was just too emotional. Our definition of reject and the band's definition are two entirely different things.
