The guitar is run through a Marshall JCM2000 DSL 50 head and I run the talkbox through a Marshall AVT2000 50W head. As for settings, it changes from venue to venue depending on personal taste and the different PAs it gets run through.

Generally, its bass at about 6-7, mids about 2-3 and highs about 5-6 with as much gain as I can get away with whilst avoiding feedback. I always leave myself a little headroom for the gain though as I rarely trust the sound guys to get the levels right from the off and the last thing you want is ear-piercing feedback at the start of IML or LOAP.

Personally, I think the Heil is great, but prefer the Framptone.

Run it through what you want; heads, amps, however you wanna complicate it but the Framp' sounds amazing whatever.

On a slightly thinner budget the Rocktron Banshee is really good too.

Oh, DON'T BLOW YOUR TEETH!!

It's not uncommon to loosen a few fillings but I think it's only the older metal fillings that come free in all the horror stories you hear about. You actually don't need to run it that loud when using it on stage but if you lack a mic and PA then you'll need to run it louder in order to hear it (the JD Heil model).

How do you shape it at the back of your throat??
