Teardrop was never about Richie.

Salaam Aleikum,

I like to believe that Jon still puts some of himself and his own experiences in his songs. I certainly think the song burning bridges is about as blatant as you can get with his thoughts on a matter effecting his own life.

I'd be interested to know what the last song you think Jon based on his own life was?

I don't think Jon has or will ever write a song about Richie. I'm not talking about Everybody's Broken or songs like that. I'm referring to anything after Richie's 2013 split....

This is the 3rd song off this album now where people are interpreting lyrics about Richie and in my opinion, that's just not the case... Could there be some hidden or double meanings going on there, maybe! But there will never be a song about Richie or a reference to Richie directly...

Ok, so the original track called ''My worst enemy'' probably went something like
"My worst enemyyyyyyyyyyyy
The music industry".

Still, it is a great song.
I agree. Jon used the exact term "they broke my heart" when he answered a question about losing the bid for the team. It's at 1:10
