Havent bought any merch for years now. Its crap and way too expensive these days both on the tour and in the store. Some of the designs on this tour were laughably bad. The shipping costs are a nonsense too.

The only way they'd reduce the costs is if people stopped buying them, like with the tickets. Whilst they have enough nutters who will pay these stupid prices, they'll keep hiking them up.

Actually found a couple of half decent unofficial Jovi t shirts on Ebay recently, one was Prayer lyrics, and one with Jon & Richie & Dave & Tico as the slogan as a rip off of those other t shirts, which I thought were better than most of the official stuff to be honest.

Yup.

First tour ever that I bought nothing. The store is a goddamn joke.

If I want something Jovi-related, I go to ebay.

Does anyone know the price of an acoustic Takamine like Jon uses? Just wondering how much the bands signatures (and a custom frame) are going for these days.

Should be the one he's playing (according to the German Takamine site, the artist profiles on the US site don't seem to work at the moment)...

I think this is it. Jon's model could be more high end, I also think there's a cheaper model which sounds awesome as well because I remember trying one out at guitar center that looked exactly like that one but the price was around $800.

Thanks. So if we're being generous on the framing etc. (lets say it's around $1200 for that), this means the bands signatures are going for around $22,000.

Are they all of a sudden selling this collectors piece now (with Richie's signature) because the fans are starting to think the bands days may be over? (the ones with Richie anyway)

I have the pro series EF341 SC and probably paid $1300 for it last year from Amazon. I would never want autographs on mine because then I'd be afraid to play it! I was on two fan club trips (please don't shoot me) where autographed guitars were raffled off. In both instances the guitars were new black Takamines, but I believe a lower end model.

I still like the majority of the band's discography, but stuff like this is why I'd never consider myself a fan. A band that is this shameless at squeezing every last dollar out of its fanbase pretty much demands blind devotion, and that's just a shitty thing to (and to be one of them is even worse).

I can almost guarantee that that isn't the high-end Takamine. You can get the lower-end Taks for $500 or so. My educated guess is that THAT is what they are selling.

Whoever pays $25,000 for that is an idiot. for $25,000 I want to spend a month or so in the studio with them and live in Jon's house, not autographs on a lower-end guitar put in a nice frame.

The bad news: They're charging 25 grand. The good news: Richie signed it.

The great news: you can get a drum head (also signed by Richie) for only one fifth of the guitar's price.
