Excellent read - there is a way to write a good review and you seem to have figured it out. I always wind up going with whether I liked it or not which is too simplistic.

The only thing I'd add to your final paragraph of assessment is that this is a YOUNG album. Yes it lacks depth and it's a big happy rock record. But when compared to the next three (which I agree are the bands finest) it is very immature. There is nothing wrong with writing and sounding young when you are young. And it's still fun for us older people to listen to because - hey - we all remember being there and we don't mind being reminded how much fun it all was.
