Default The Desmond Child Conspiracy

Okay. Bear with me, this will all make sense in a minute or two.

Desmond Child co-wrote a song with KISS called "Hide Your heart". As any kiss fan will know, various acts covered it before Kiss formally recorded it and released it in 1989. One of such acts was Robin Beck. I just downloaded her version. I shit you not, the entire opening is Rosie. Note for note, it's just about the same, minus the solo. Same key and everything. Another act that covered the song is Bonnie Tyler. Now, Desmond co wrote the song "If you were were a woman" in 1985/86 with her and the opening sound eerily like Bad name. But I know a lot of jovi fans knew about that one.

I don't know if anyone cares but I found the whole thing kinda weird. If anyone wants me to send them any of the files I've mentioned, let me know. I got a good laugh out of it.

rosie is pretty oridnary fare with regards to what kind of music was going round at the time so it's entirely plausable that it's just a coincidence.

on the other hand, if kiss "finally" recorded it in 89, we cna assume it was kickign about for years before rosie was written so it could have been Jon ripping off childs work

does child have a writing credit on bad name? i cant remember off the top of my head but if he did and he came up with the intro then he can use it in anything else he wants wether it's bon jovi or not.

Yup, Bad Name is credited as being written by Jon, Richie and Desmond.

If I'm not mistaken, Desmond Child co-wrote Rosie, so then he'd be ripping off his own work.

Desmond did co-write Rosie. I'm not sure how this is a conspiracy. LOL As far as Bad Name, Desmond was on something (VH-1 special about SWW, I think) talking about working with Jon & Richie and said he came up with the title, Jon came up with that opening line, and the song was written rather quickly.

I didn't SERIOUSLY mean conspiracy. Yes, I know he co-wrote both songs. I guessy you'd have to hear Bonnie Tyler's song to fully hear what I'm hearing. It just freaked me out how similar they both are to each other.

I think "The Desmond Child Conspiracy" sounds like a pretty good name for a band.

Yup. Mr. Child proved that same shite works in different genres. That's how similar they are.
