I want to say it was in Phoenix??? I'm going on memory here. I read about it though. I am thinking it's the night they did that song 3 times trying to get a new video going. I'm pretty sure that dog onstage was planned, but it seems I read that Richie didn't know what was about to happen.....Anyone remember more details than this??

Jon did seem pretty startled when the guy touched his shoulder and then he and Richie seemed to find it quite funny. It would make sense to be planned though as the security guard did take far too long to appear if it were real.

The guy that direcred this also did the Dave Matthews Band video, where the guy hugs peope unexpectedly. The video was basically a social/human experiment, seeing how people would react to a guy in a dog suit or whatever. Jon had planned for the dog to come on stage but didn't tell the band. The expression on Richies face as he's beign humped is genuine though.
