True. I was referring to the statement of "Bon Jovi was formed in 1983 and with reference to only Jon, David and Tico". In my book that is wrong. I have no issues with not including Richie in a recent calendar, he shouldn't be there. However, if they quote historical aspects of the band he should definitely be included.

Yeah I hear you. I guess if you break it down:

Formed in 1983, this popular American rock band is formed of Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan and Tico Torres.

Neither of those facts is incorrect. They're not saying other than the year they came out and who is in it now. But it's poor wording to use "Formed" twice.

I agree: If their strategy is to pretend Richie never existed, they'll have to avoid blunders of this nature -- simply say, "Bon Jovi was formed in New Jersey in 1983." When you're on the hunt for a record deal, the last thing you want to do is come across as trying to destabilize your own fan base!

But they're not saying he never existed, they're just not talking about who used to be in the band. They're using the word "is" and not "was" when mentioning the members. Pretending he never existed would have been "Formed in 1983 by Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan and Tico Torres".

The more and more I see this stuff, the more and more I realize that the beginning of end is coming (or has started)...

At this point it's safe to say that Richie will not be joining Bon Jovi for this upcoming Album and Tour... By the time the next Album and Tour takes place, lets look at their ages...

Jon ------ 56 or 57 years old
Richie --- 59 or 60 years old
Dave ---- 57 or 58 years old
Tico------ 65 or 66 years old

With the exception of nostalgic purposes, does it really matter in terms of music quality who is in the band at that point. Jon and Richie are divorced. Even if Richie wanted to comeback, Jon doesn't want him back.

I still think that we'll get a lot of material and BS releases between now and the end of it all but as far as band albums and tours go, we have reached that ending point of the 4 above every sharing a stage together again under the name Bon Jovi.

Jon being the youngest might still have a few more good years in him over the rest of the band but Bon Jovi the band is slowly disassembling right before our eyes.

After the turd known as WAN, and now no Richie, Jon should have retired the band. I can't see how continuing on will do anything other than ruin the band's legacy. The quality of the band, the quality of the writing, the quality of the music, the quality of the live shows...they all had been on a steady decline over the past few years, but now all suffer greatly without Richie.

I get that it was Richie's choice. I also get that it wouldn't be fair to the remaining band members or to the fans to expect them to disband because of Richie's decision, but the bottom line is without Richie the band's whole sound is different. It doesn't sound like Bon Jovi. He was an essential component of the band's sound for 30 years.

BOB, IBTFY, Stick to Your Guns, Never Say Goodbye, Wanted, etc etc etc will never sound right live without Richie.
