Mousebounce, I take it that you have not been a target of MB's attacks then?

Yes, I did mean what I said earlier about not letting it bother me anymore. But I can't shut it out completely either, cause I keep reading the threads I find interesting, regardless of what she might have posted there to/about me. Don't know what others who get specifically targeted by MB think about it or do about it, but it's a bit hard to ignore it completely. Especially when she sometimes sticks her nose into almost every thread I post in and just randomly throws some insults at me, regardless of what I say in my post.

And this is a person who has never met me, who has never talked to me for real, who has never been in the same concerts with me. Who doesn't know anything about me in real life.

Then again, I learned it years ago already that bullies don't need a reason anyway.

Even if it was 15$, that fanclub is still a rip off.

No, I never was targeted by MB, but I always believe that the best response is no response. (Unless you are up for a fight. Hehe) You won't give someone power if you just ignore them. By arguing you are showing that you care. Easier said than done, but I still think that people like her thrive on dissonance and if that disappears, so do they.

Now as for banning, I didn't lose any sleep over the banning of MB, but I did think the banning of Goose along with some others was unfair. It is hard to have someone "in power" pick and choose who is worthy, that is why I feel it is best to ditch the banning policy all together, even though I can understand the happiness people felt when she was banned.

I will say there is an awful lot of b*tching and moaning over there lately. People get in fights over everything over there these days!! It makes here look quite tame in comparison.

I just think that he also had is favorites, which weren't the people who are used to being the favorites. Maybe that isn't such a bad thing.

what do you mean? I've never been a fanclub member and I've seen BJ in the USA all of once, but I got a presale code through AmericaXS which came free with my CD (Bounce). I got pretty good seats, just like I always do when I get a presale code for a band that doesn't sell out within minutes.

I am curious to hear about the potential benefits of belonging to the fanclub regarding ticket distribution in the US.

I recently joined the Pearl Jam fanclub (I am very much an anti-fanclub person, hate to be associated in that way with anybody/anything, so this was a big step) for the sole purpose of actually having a chance to get A ticket when they play here. The do a show about once a year here in Seattle, but I've never had any luck getting a ticket as they sell out faster than you can blink, plus they play very small venues, so there are only 500 tickets or so to be had. At $15 it's worth a shot, not to mention the christmas single, and newsletter and other stuff that I don't really care for that much.

I'm not sure what I need to explaing (not being sarcastic here, just really not sure of the question). AXS isn't associated with the fan club. The fan club still has that assinine be-at-the-venue-for-a-chance-to-purchase-one-ticket rule. That only is reasonable of people who live near venues and since the band's tour is skewed to favor the northeast that leaves the majority of the country out in the cold. Can I take a day or two off work, fly to Atlanta (for no less than $200) and book a hotel room (again at least $50 in Atlanta, for a dump) just for the CHANCE to buy a ticket? So, here I've got two days of vacation time, and $250 invested with no guarantee to even get a ticket. What the hell is enticing about that? Why are locals favored? Why should a Texan in San Antonio have to fly or drive a day to buy a ticket for a show in Dallas? They're just as Texan as a Dallasian. Whoever thinks that system is fair hasn't looked a map of the USA.

Their ticketing method is archaic and even THEY are saying tickets and the chance to go on fan club trips are the only benefits left. Fan club tickets don't have to be in the first 10 rows on the floor. There are excellent seats to be had on the sides of the arena. Their preference to "locals" locks out thousands of fan club members from ever having a reasonable shot at fan club tickets. So, what then, those of us in large states where major cities are hundreds of miles apart and in regions of the country where they don't play are left with $40 a year for the opportunity to go to fan club parties--if they don't sell out.

Thank God some fan clubs are using modern day technology to distribute tickets.

Becky, Backstage always was about the money. I esp. realized it when I saw the costs of the last fc-trip and compared it to the trip I made on my own. We payed for comparable offers only half as much.

And they still don't guarantee the wristbands. At the last tour it happens that they didn't have enough wristbands for all fc-members who were there and it could happen again. So some people maybe pay 40 Dollars for nothing.

For the fee of $40.00 for everyone, your membership will continue through the entire worldwide tour,

Your membership will be good for the length of the
tour. To my knowledge a tour has never been under a year. The tour hasn't
started yet, so you will at least get a year membership.

^^ so by that its not a one year membership as such from the day you join. Its for the length of the tour so if you join mid tour its only till the end. Plus what if you are waiting to join because you want to know if they are even touring your country in my case Australia-- hahahhaha NOT likely lol. If they don't announce this say till 10 months into the tour.. I mean they never announce a years worth of dates at once do they?? You would only end up with 2 months for your $40 US dollars at that ! Then you might get the opportunity to get one FC ticket.... so basically they are saying pay $40US dollars on top of normal for maybe getting a special seat.

I know, it dosen't make alot of sense. From that post, literally the only thing we get for the $40 is priority tickets for concerts, 10% discount from merchandise which is vastly overpriced and the opportunity to attend fan club trips!
I thought when the change was first mentioned months ago that they said something about upgrading the website and making exclusive interviews/videos etc for members. Also other artists send out monthly e'mails with news etc.
Maybe some of this info will be provided in the last copy of the newsletter, but if it's not $40 is a joke.
