I honestly believe Richie is the deciding factor whether the band is done or not. Having Phil duplicate Richie's parts on tour is one thing, but writing and recording a new album without an integral component that every album has had the past 30 years is something else entirely. I personally just don't see Jon moving forward with the band at this point in their career without Richie.

100% agreed. If Richie is saying he didn't have a lot to do with the last record (and it really shows in his watered down playing) then this is what future band albums will sound like and it's clear the fanbase doesn't want it, the general public doesn't want it. And if you're going down that path, just make music YOU want.

First off, Bon Jovi is not done for good. No Way!

It is definitely time for some solo work and change. The last thing I want to see and hear is another band album and tour of the same.

Jon and the guys deserve some time away from "the machine" for a couple of years. Now is the time for some compilations and solo work. A Box Set / Proper Live Album / Jon to do a movie soundtrack / Jon to do a real solo album / Richie to do a couple albums / Etc.....

Jon should put the world touring on hold for a while and do things that will allow him to spend some time with his family. Heck, he could become a judge on American Idol.

If the band is over, so be it... I mean what do these guys have left in them anyway. Tico is 60, Richie will be 55, and Jon is turning 52 next week. They will regroup in 3 to 4 years for a final world tour. Alec will probably join that one as well. After that, they'll do some spot shows, but the bulk of Bon Jovi the band is behind us. I think Jon and Richie (and Dave) will make appearances together until they physically can't move anymore. However, still expect a lot from them within the next 10 years whether it be band, solo, or compilation.

With Bruce being 64 and still going strong, Jon will continue to try and be the same if his voice allows him to. I could see Jon taking a similar approach with his career path as Bruce did at 52+ with his band and solo releases.

I think the next 10 to 12 years will be the best in terms of diversity. Now the quality of music is a completely different topic but I do think it's going to be all good. I'm sure there is a contract that needs to be filled....

What I REALLY think is that Jon should enjoy the opportunity to do a real treatment to his vocal chords. If the guy needs surgery, he should do right now. I just can't stand his performances anymore, it's not for a professional singer perform the way he's doing.

Couldn't agree more. It's beyond acceptable or tolerable. It's just bad. I do fear the damage is beyond repair though

Jon admires Mick Jagger and tries to follow his path. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are still together after 50 years. I hope Jon take example of his idol, and Richie back in the future.

Are you actually aware of the kind of relationship Mick and Keith have? You're bringing these two up as if they're still the best of friends, but the only reason they're sharing that stage is because of the huge amounts of money they make. Stones fans noticed early on their current tour how Mick rarely looked Keith in the eye anymore, it's not exactly the kind of thing I want between Jon and Richie. Their relationship on stage looked strained enough as it is.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Richie also is no Keith when it comes to handling the situation with class. Keith did a solo record after Mick bailed on the Stones tour for Dirty Work, and that record was basically done by Keith and Ron Wood, since Jon was busy with solo work... now look at the Bon Jovi situation again and tell me Richie is in the guitar player's position here.

I think you meant "...since Mick was busy with solo work".. but you are point on.

I didn't like Richie's Stones comment, the not the real deal or calling Phil X adequate. IF the Edge comment was true,( from a source) they both are just behaving like brats. Thought was classier than that. IF this ever heals, it's going to be a long time.

Ooops. Yeah, Mick, not Jon.

Keith also ALWAYS made it clear he has great appreciation for the Stones and what they did. Hell, he even defended Mick's involvement in the record - "it's still a Rolling Stones record, we all contributed". Richie is now claiming that he was basically responsible for most of the Bon Jovi hits and shitting all over what he did with that band.
