Here you go guys, the old "Just Ask" Hugh section:

Are the acoustics in big huge stadiums hard to deal with sometimes despite the money monitor system you guys must use? Have you ever had the pleasure of playing a Mike Lull instrument? What bass was used on “Living on a Prayer”? Do your feet REALLY hurt after a show? Roth or Hagar?
E MN

Even with in-ear monitors, the acoustics vary from venue to venue. Sometimes bad, sometimes worse. Yes, I have played a Mike Lull bass...very good.
1963 Fender Precision Bass for "Prayer"
Hagar

Hey Hugh!, i just want to say that i think your a great bassist. I love the bassline to "Livin' on a prayer", what
bass did you use for that? and what amp? Probably the best bassline i've ever heard Take care mate Oliver,
Perth. Western Australia
Thank you! 1963 Fender Precision bass, no amp

Hi Huey, I know you love playing the bass for/with Bon Jovi.
But isn't it boring to play (nearly) the same set night after night? Honestly, wouldn't it be
more fun and a bigger challenge as well playing every night a completely different set?
I mean, if Southside paid you as much as Jon is able to, which job would you prefer - Bon Jovi or the Jukes
(the best bar band in the world whose fantanstic christmas show in Osnabruck I recently attended)?
Yours, Martin from Kiel/Germany
Never bored. At my age and with my memory, every night is a different set whether I like it or not.

Tis there a question here? yes there tis: When not cleaning up
cat shit, dog shit and feeding fish, do you do any solo playing or
artwork creating or any other of those interesting right brained activitys?
Sucking the suds at the local pub doesnt count P
ah yes one more...Eagles or Giants?
QwnOfSwng from joisey baby Joisey!
There's a right brain?
Eagles

Hey Hugh, Who are your guitar mentors? Clapton,
Van Halen, or the ever popular Sambora??? Patty
Clapton and Sambora

Dear Huey, my name is Dunja and i`m from germany, so i`m sorry for my bad english My question probably sounds strange to you but maybe you can help me out somehow. I have been a Bon jovi Fan since 1989 and i`ve always been a huge fan of Alec. Don`t get me wrong, i think you`re doing a great job in the band and i totally respect this. But i saw you answered someone else`s question about Alec, that´s why i hope you can help me. Is there any way of contact adress (fan club or whatever) to be able to find out about how he is doing now??? I don´t ask about any private adresses or something like that, just a contact adress? I have tried over the Bon Jovi Fanclub but they didn´t answer. I would love to know how he is doing and if it`s still possible to get an autograph? It would be my biggest wish. Thank you for reading so far. Dunja
I speak to him occasionally and he seems to be doing well. I think he's out of the music business now, so I don't know how you'd find out more info about him.

Hey Huey, How do you get to be in the audience in
one of the videos? Allen
Jon doesn't like me to be in the audience when we're playing

Hi Huey, Firstly, i just want to tell you how brilliant a bass player i think you are, and that Bon Jovi have been my favourite band since i was 10, im 22 now and think you guys still rock!!! I think you are fantastic live, and would love to see you guys over in the uk very soon! Ok, after all that, my question, what's YOUR favourite song by Bon Jovi? Mine has to be, "As my Guitar lies Bleeding in my Arms" and "Wanted Dead or Alive".Cheers! Charlotte Hobbs x
Thank you. I love "Give Me Something For The Pain" and "Homebound Train"...not neccessarily in that order

hey hugh! my name is danielle i'm from israel! i've got
a question that really intresting me! did you played for
bon jovi since "bon jovi" album with alec? or without alec?
who played the bass in those years untill alec left? did alec
really played bass when he was in the band or it was you ?
some people told me that you "fix" the mistakes of him...is it true?
i like to get answer! by the way we are dying that you guys will
come to israel, wer'e waiting for 1000000 years you'll come!
israel is not just camels and desert!
You can research my playing background with
Bon Jovi on bonjovi.com

Hi, Huey I got two questions first of all: 1) Are you afraid
of heights? and the second one is: 2) Have you heard of
Morrissey? your friend from Orlando, Aleister Lola Garcia.
Yes and yes

Other than Tico what drummers have you enjoyed playing with. Either live or doing recordins. Thanx
Ringo Starr, Andy Newmark, Micky Curry

Hi Huey. Do play any other Instruments besides Bass? Pete in Dublin
Not really

HEY HUGH! can you describe the personality of the
band members and Doc Mac Ghee in 3 words EACH
one?!?!?! Thanx best wishes from Argentina
No

Hello my friend.... I would like to ask you a few q´S

1) Why if the band had finished the new record, you
have to delay the released till September???

2) is there any track soundalike "Dry County" or
"Something to believe in"???
3) Dont you think is time
to "forgive" your latin fans and came to Southamerica
again??? Thanks a lot for your time to do this and best
wishes from Argentina. Esteban

1)Jon wrote some new songs, thus the delay

2)No

3)What did you do?

hi! I´ve got two more for you... 1)what was your most embarasing moment on a show??? and 2) can you tell me how is a musical argument in the band¡? thanks seeee ya on the road
1) When I forget part of a song...it's happened a few times. It will probably happen again. It's very embarassing.
2)Huh?

Hugh, I think it's great you play with Bon Jovi and your
face is not plastered all over the records. It's all about the
music...great!! My question is,studio or live better.Thanks,
Josh Pierce Myrtle Beach S.C
Thanks Mom!
Somedays studio is better, somedays live is better

hey!huey!just wandering will you guys will back any old songs in the coming tour? regrads, don
It's up to Jon

Do You think the bassline of hey god is more simular to symathy for the devil or the bassline of keep the faith?thx Robert
Keep the Faith

What's the different between the Stingray and Sadowskybasses? I 'm having doubts about buying a 4 or 5 string. Why do you play a 5 string? Thanx and lots of greets!
Tommy

Apples and oranges. I had a Stingray 5 string. It's a great bass for the money. Go for it! I play the 5 string because I can.

Hi. My name is PnP...
i'm a fan of bj since 2000, and i think that You, Huey, are the best bass player
(also steve harris is, but it doesnt matter)...
I have a question about Richie: Can he read notes? Can you?
And how many basses do u have?
Just chord charts. 9 or 10

Hey Huey
I have just two simple question! How many copies of Bounce and This left feels right
were sold worldwide and in the USA? Thanks and keep on rocking
Andreas (Switzerland)

That's a good question

Hi Huey!
Have you ever had the chance to meet Paul McCartney?

Yes

How old were you when you started to play the bass?
Do you play any other instruments?
In which Bon Jovi song do you like the bass the most?
- Which one gives you most challenge?
Hope you understand my questions.
Nina, Denmark.
By the way: I think that you are the world's best bass player.
13 years old
/ Not really. / Living on a Prayer and Keep the Faith are the most fun to play.

huuuugh mcdonald on the bass!! when are we going to hear that again on jon's voice???
well, I'm looking forward for another bon jovi tour, and please, tell richie not to talk when he hasn't got to!!! because in his own words, the album was suposed to be out on may... hehe well sorry I just wanted to know if there is any truth in the rumour of bobby bandiera and jeff kazee playing on stage with bon jovi, and... if you think that there is any chance of any any band member reading questions or messages of fans, because sincerely... I don't think hugh will read this, so... thanks to whoever reads this

Hugh's reading this. I'll make sure Richie doesn't speak. Bobby and Jeff are doing the shows.

Hi Hugh, Just a quick question. Do you ever, you know,
hang out with Jon and the rest of the band or are you
more of a family guy? Thomas Greenwood, UK
Both

Dear Huey, hi!sorry about last time.i've to introduce myself here.
I'm also a big bon jovi fans in England, but I actually come from
Hong Kong. i'm a big fan since i first listened on 'crush' when i
come over to England and I've been a 'resident' in England for
5 or 6 years',it's really good.anyway,i just wandering have you
guys performed 'something for the pain' in the London Wembley
stadium 1995 after 'hey god'?as i've got the recording as the
full-length recording, because the setlist is really different from
my ebay seller setlist and from the internet.by the way, please
tell me that could you have a chance for choosing the setlist as
would jon discuss to you guys about how the set goes?i really wish
that you guys can play some more songs from the 'these days'
record and from the box-set as well. regrads, john
I wish I had a say in the set list, but it's up to Jon..

Hey huey, what's your favorite scary movie?
The Thing

*Hello Hugh!!! First of all I want to tell you what a pleasure
it was meeting you. You were so kind and I know you
were in a hurry but you took time to talk to me, take a
photo with me and even autograph my shirt for me.
(and the shirt is now retired in my Bon Jovi theme spare
bedroom.) A BIG Thank You for being so kind. I have
seen Bon Jovi play countless times, yes I am a life
long 21 year Bon Jovi fan. My question is..... What
are you thinking when your on stage, What goes through
your mind? Also I would like to ask you.... What do
you think you would be doing with your life if you
hadn't gotten into the music business? And
finally...... What is your favorite city to play in?
I think your a great asset to Bon Jovi and I just love
ya to pieces!!! Amy Chicago, IL USA
What goes on in my mind? It's always different.
Some nights it's "don't **** up!" "What are those
words, what are those chords?" Other nights it's
"Is Amy from Chicago in the audience?"
If I hadn't been in the music business I'd be asking
"Do you want fries with that?"
My favorite city to play in is London

Hi Huey, I can't imagine what fellow as famous as you do at the day. Can you tell me about it? Big Fan
I clean up dog shit, cat shit, and I feed the fish.

Hi Hugh How have you been keepin'? Gee-Ann from South Africa here by the way! How is Jon's ankle? I hope he gets well soon. So, I finally got my Box Set and I am soooooo happy with it.I love what you guys did on the third disc when Tico, Richie and David are on vocals. Tico has a lovely deep voice. I couldn't believe it when I first heard him sing. It took a little bit of getting used to though. So, we've heard the whole band sing, how about Huey giving us a solo???? Hint Hint!!Anyway, thanks to all you guys for a wonderful Box Set that I will cherish for the rest of my life and I can't wait for the new studio album and tour!
Hopefully you will come to South Africa again. Love Gee-Ann South Africa)

As for my lead vocals...look for me on the next season of American Idol.

Hi Huey,In the past, you've contributed vocals to sessions with David Bromberg,Jane Gillman,Tim Moore etc & i also had the privilege to see you shred a stones cover at one of the Xmas shows back in the 90's,so my question is:Will we ever see a solo Hugh album maybe??? you're certainly an accomplished enough vocalist to pull it off!Hope to meet ya on the tour again!Lee (UK)
Thank you, but I don't see that in the future.

Have you ever
worked with Randy?~ G.G.
Randy "American Idol" Jackson? Nice dog.

With an exception of Bon Jovi, who else would you single out of your career as someone you REALLY enjoyed working with?
Alice Cooper...my future stepson, Jake, is his biggest fan!

Did you do any studio work for anyone else while you were off that we should be looking forward to or have you been kept busy else where? My other question is have you ever worked with one of my other favorite bands, Aerosmith? ~G.G.
I've been kept busy elsewhere. I've never worked with Aerosmith, but I'm a big fan.

dear huey, just wandering as i've got a lot of bon jovi videos and
stuffs, why does richie always have to wear his
sunglasses on the opening set, then take it off in the
middle of the set.and you just wear that sunglasses in
the whole show? regrads,christopher
mcdonalds
Because Richie's cool and I'm blind!

Whiich song is the easiest for you to play on stage? María Cristina Rodríguez
Prayer

dear huey, hi!i'm a really big bon jovi fans since i've came
over to england.by the way,i heard that bon jovi is going
to release a new album next year,is it right?also are you
guys going to start tour next year too?and is it true that
bon jovi will stop touring after 2005/06?so is the next year
one (i mean tour)going to be the last one?or just you guys
want a break in a short while? love from john
p.s.:just wandering why did you guys invite alec john such
back in that 'one wild night' tour in the new jersey one?
whose ideas is it?(you don't mind i ask that, don't you?)
really just wandering.
We are working on a new album.

I don't know what the future holds.
My crystal ball
is broken.
It's in the shop for repairs.

Alec's family.

Hi, Hugh, Hi, my name's Gavin and I've been a Bon Jovi fan since 1990 when I heard "Born To Be My Baby" on the radio and I've been a fan of yours since I saw you playing with the guys at Wembley Stadium on 25th June, 1995-it was my first ever concert! The Milton Keynes show of 1996 was even better! I'm hoping to see you and the band this year if you decide to tour the UK. My question is this, other than "Keep The Faith" what other songs have you come up with the bass line for? P.S. I'm the other person who makes glasses look really, really cool! (Gavin, Essex, UK)
I came up with the bass lines for everything I've played on.

Hi Hugh! I was at the show on Sunday night....and
WOW it was the most amazing night! I was 4th row
right in front of you (the just younger fan in pink in
case you saw me ); thank you for playing an
awesome show! Of all the box set songs, especially
the ones you played on Sunday, which is your favorite
to play? Thanks and can't wait to see you on tour
(hopefully soon!!!) ~Heather
Love Ain't Nothin' But a Four Letter Word

Hi Hugh. My name is Sue Jassim. I'm 25 but have been a Bon Jovi fan since I was about 8 years old. I am interested in working in the music industry after graduation and I was hoping you could tell me how, if possible I would be able to get a job working for Bon Jovi. If there's anything you can do to help me that would be great. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for your time and patience. Sincerely,Sue Jassim
I'm still trying to get a job working for Bon Jovi

how did it feel when you
found out 'These Days' was number 1 on stage?
Keep rocking mate and please get you and the
guys back to England soon! Cheers, Dan and
Stacey Davies (Clevedon, UK)
It felt like we beat Michael Jackson...it was cool!

Hello Huey! Were you playing the bass with Richie
Sambora in Mr. Sambo, Guitars That Rule the World?
That was an amazing job!
I was playing the bass and Tico was playing the drums.

So of the new album which song is your favourite so far..... thanx!!
ps: how is your new home??? Esteban

"Have a Nice Day"....My home is wonderful...thank you!

Hello Huge, Sarah here from London, England.
I have a couple of questions for you! From a bassists
point of view, which is the hardest Bon Jovi song to
play?(keeps you on your toes the most) Are you all
aware of the lengths that fans go to in order to get
a good view(sleeping in parks etc) what is your view
of that?Mad or comitted? I think you do a first class
job in Bon Jovi, and please pass on my best wishes
to the rest of the band and tell them to hurry up
and get on tour!
"Born to be my Baby" is probably the hardest for me because I have to sing some harmonies. No napping on that one! Thank God for the fans!

Hi Huey! My favorite Bon Jovi album is These Days. I've read this album is also your favorite one - is that true? Unfortunately you didn't play any song of the These Days record during the last three tours. Do you think it is possible that you will play some more songs
of this great album again on your next tour - especially in Europe?

We played "These Days" a couple of times last tour. Yes, it is my favorite album

Hi Hugh! I'm going to be totally un-original here, and ask what's your favourite song on the box set... and why? Can't wait to get it on November 15th, because the songs/clips
released so far are *amazing*! Always keepin' the faith, Melissa

Edge of a Broken Heart

Hi there,I'm an avid bon jovi fan and I love everything you guys do. I am a bass player myself and I look up to you for a lot of inspiration but I was wondering what Hartke equipment you used on tours before you moved to Ebs because I can no way near afford it. I want to get some Hartke stuff and wondering what stuff you used as I love your sound. Cheers Joel
4-410 XL Cabinets and the Hartke 7000 amplifier.

Hello... is it true that "18 & life" was written by Jon and RIchie??,
and do you miss Richie now he lives in the West Coast???
I don't know if they wrote that. Yes, I miss Richie

Hey! I read that you wrote the bass line to "keep the faith."
I love that bass line. I've been trying to figure out how to play
it on the trombone (I know; weird, isn't it?) Just another question,
did you right any other bass lines to bon jovi songs? Allen
Yes

Hi Huey, hope everything's ok! If Bon Jovi decided to play a concert with all the demos from the earlier albums (one can only dream ;o) would you have to learn to play those songs or do you already know them? I'm sure Jon would have to take a look to the lyrics ;o) Thanks for taking the time to answer to YOUR fans. And as I just learned that you wrote the bassline for the song Keep The Faith I just wanted to say, congratulations!!! Sabi - France
I know the demos, but we'd all have to re-learn them. Thanks!

how long have you been playing guitar, and did you have a
tutor or teach yourself? Thanks to you and the guys for the greatest music
ever!!! Sarah x
Self taugh

Heya, Huey, hope you're doing well! I wanted to write to thank you for the most amazing June last year. My friend and I got on stage twice (once in Ostend and then in Manchester. You also really kindly blew us a kiss when you read our banner. I wanted to know if the banners held up in concerts ever distract you, or do you like reading what's on them? What's the funniest one you've read? Look forward to seeing you, hopefully in 2005! Charlie -x-
I love reading the banners. They don't distract me. The funniest one I read was "Hugh who?" and on the back it read "Where's Alec?"

Hi Hugh! There's no doubt you're one of the most talented bass players in the business, but let me ask you something 'bout your knowledge of music theory: Are you able to read music? If yes: do you prefer notes or tablature or both or do you have your own kind of system? Do you write down your bass lines or do you only keep them in mind? Imagine Jon would like to change the key of some songs only five minutes before the gig. Would you be able to transpose them - let's say - from B to Gb without practicing or writing them down before playing them? Do you have favorite tonalities or are you a "real pro" considering the circle of fifths? Please be honest and pardon my curiosity! Yours, Martin from Kiel/Germany
I basically play by ear. I learned by ear. I can read chord charts. My sight reading is poor to bad. I don't know about tabs. No, I don't have favorite tonalities. I try to play from the heart, not from the head cause I have shit for brains.

Hi Huey, I've always wanted to know why you are mentioned
in the CD sleeves and on the DVDs as being a part of the band
yet aren't present on the album covers or the website? Isn't this
a bit tough to take as you've been a part of the band for a long
time now and should be seen on equal terms as the other four
and not merely Alec's replacement anymore. Thanks, Ben
I like being part of the band. It's a good job.

HI HUEY. MY NAME IS BON JOVIAL. I'M MAD ABOUT
BON JOVI & YOU OF COURSE. YOU ARE THE BEST I
N THE UNIVERSE ! ! ! I'M MAD ABOUT BON JOVI FROM
THE AGE OF 10. NOW I'M 15 & I STILL LOVE YOU. I
WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU SOMETHING. YOU ARE
THE BEST, YOU ARE SO GOOD-LOOKING AS THE
OTHER 4 MEMBERS OF THE BAND. I WOULD LIKE
TO KNOW WHY YOU ARE NOT A OFFICIAL MEMBER?
I WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF YOU ANSWER ME.
BYE, BON JOVIAL
I'm Obie's illegitimate son, so if I was a member of the band there would be a nepotism problem since he is Jon's best friend.

Hi Huey! I'm a french fan and I wanted to know why you
don't make bass solo in concert? You can make for the
futur Bon Jovi song a jam with your bass, It's that
the Rock n' roll! Not a commercial thing! Imagine a
song started with a bass groove to progress in an
anthem rock song! yeah! It will be great no? Just one
more things, What do you think about the song
"Borderline"(SWW demo) ? In live It will be cool! Thx
guy for answer me! bye
I get my bass solo at the beginning of "Keep the Faith" and that's enough for me. My style of bass playing doesn't lend itself to soloing.

I'm sure that questions on the whole "unofficial member"
thing gets annoying, but I wondered why you only appear
on the Real Life single cover? I know that Dave wasn't on
the song but it's seems a bit pathetic just using you as a
'cover filler'. So why only Real Life? Thanks, Will
Really? Didn't know I was on a cover.

Two questions: First, why do we hardly never hear any songs from these days at the concerts? I know JBJ said it was dark album, in which I agree, but man that has some awesome songs on it. Second, I know JBJ will get mad over this but for as far as Im concerned, you have ALWAYS been the bass for BON JOVI, not alec, and I think its time that JBJ gets off his high horse and "present you as part of the band".
I wish we played more from "These Days". I love that record.

Hey Hugh, Did you remember at the Amsterdam show our banner
with: Please show some balls play I Believe? And if yes what did
you think of it? regards and see you on the road next year. Thierry

I don't remember it...sorry. But I would play "I Believe" in a second.

hello again!! Is it true that "You give love a bad name" is a copy of Bonni Tyler's "If you were a woman"?? And who really wrote "House of fire"? because I heard it from Bon Jovi and in the Trash record it's under Alice Cooper and Desmond Child... thanksssss
No, it's not a copy of "If you were a woman". I don't know if it's the same "House of Fire".

Hi, how are you, enjoying the "free time"?? I wanna know the meaning of the video for Only Lonely??? I mean the storyline.... and is it true that Tico directed some part of it??? Thanks a lot
That was before me. I have no idea.

HI HUEY!!!! I'M A GREAT FAN OF BON JOVI. YOU ARE THE BEST BAND. I WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU THIS:"WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE ALBUM FROM BON JOVI & WHICH TRACK? WITH GREEK GREETINGS. STELLA
"Slippery When Wet" and "Living on a Prayer"

Have you always made your living as a musician or in the early years did you have to work a real job? (read "real" as we are all jealous we don't have a wonderful job we love! LOL) If so what was it? ~ Love G.G.
In my early teens I was a porn star.

It seems that Obie is CONSTANTLY bashing on you big guy!
Examples: Question: Obie, what is the worst present given
to you from a member of the band, and who gave it
asked by Michael on Wednesday, April 7, 2004
Answer: Hughie once gave me a Tastykake blueberry
pie that was actually moldy inside.
That's' about as bad as it gets.
answered by OBIE on Wednesday, April 7 , 2004 4:47 PM
Question: Hi Obie for all those who have never met the guys
of bon jovi, how would you describe their personalities?
asked by Kelly (K) on Tuesday, January 7, 2003
Answer: Dave and Richie are the two funniest guys I've ever met
in my life. Tico is definitely one of the coolest guys I've ever met.
Jon is one of the smartest and hardest working and most-talented
guys I've ever met. And Huey never wants to pick up the check for lunch.
answered by OBIE on Tuesday, January 7 , 2003 7:18 PM
LOL PLEASE tell us you give as good as you get and feel free
to bash Obie here on your own site. We would love it!!! ~ Lotsa Love G.G.
Oh, Obie's such a jokester! Obie and I grew up together. We were friends way before there was a Bon Jovi.

Hello, Huey. Well My name is Lynn Dube. I live in Massachusetts. You are also from Massachusetts also correct? I have been a Bon Jovi fan for 16 years. I had a question my friend and have been wondering, why you are not pictured on any of the Bon Jovi albums with the guys?
I'm from Pennsylvania. I lived in Boston for a while. I'm too tall for album covers.

Hi huey on the israeli forum of bon jovi we have an
argument so i have a q for you : Did you wrote the
bass line to keep the faith ? When oh when BJ go
on the road again. Love, Marit from Israel
Yes, I wrote the bass line. / Sometime in 2005

Hello Hugh, My name is Angelo Piscola. I have been a big fan of yours ...
even before I knew who you were. Here is a funny story...maybe you
will remember it. My friends Joe Salucci and Donna Grosso were playing
at PARS in White Plains NY...back in the late 80s. I used to play there also...
along with a hundred other bands. We were called Little Criminals.
The manager of Pars, Anthony Radice was our lead vocalist. I was the
Drummer.....any way to make a long story short, Joe Salucci called me
on the phone and told me he was going to be playing at PARS AKA
J Parkers and to come by. We always would stop by to see each other play.
When I arrived..You guys were already on stage. I was listening real closely
to the bass and I said to myself I have heard this bass style before. Then it
came to me....it sounded just like the bassist from Bon Jovi....again..this is back
some 16 years ago. You finished your first set 35 minutes later and I came up
and greeted Joe. He asked me how the sound was...always the first question
out of a musicians mouth breaking from their first set....I said awesome. At that
point you were wipng the white 5 string down from fingerprints. I told Joe the
bass sounded just like the bassist from Bon Jovi....whome I love....he almost dropped
to the floor....that is when he introduced us....he said...and I quote" Hey Hughey..
This is my buddie Angelo and he said you sound like the bassist from Bon Jovi"
You and Joe laughed together....And the joke was on me. You and I chatted for
a while as you were telling me about the slippery album studio events and that
you just finished the New Jersey album and the white 5 string was a gift from Jon .
That is one of my favorite stories. It thrills me to see you onstage with the boys.
Ever since I heard the Slippery album....the bassline from livin on a prayer started
it all for me....Your precision ' execution; and style have captivated me ever since....
you were the bassist I always wanted to play with....even before I met you. LOL.
I hope you enjoyed this bit of nostalgia....whether you rember it or not. God Bless
and I will see ya at the next show. Sincerely, Angelo Piscola
Wow! I remember every bit of that story. Thanks for the memories.

Hi Huey, I would like to know, what you love more: playing small venues like Kiel or Atlantic City or big stadiums like Muinch or Giants? Is there a venue somewhere on the world you prefer most? Best wishes ,yours Ulrike
I enjoy playing both large and small shows. I think that Wembly Stadium, even though it doesn't exist anymore, was my favorite venue.

And THERE it is, straight from the horses mouth. Huhg came up with KTF bassline, LOAP bassline, ITA and any other songs he played on.

Hi Hugh!!! Do you know how to play the songs of Fahrenheit?? How do you think about that album?? Tell Jon that "The Hardest part is the night" and "Always run to you" are great songs, and that any die hard fan would beg to hear them live!!!. Thanks to do this, we´ll see ya in Argentina
I don't think we'll be playing much from that album in the future. After 20 years and a large catalogue of songs, some have to be left out.

Hey there huge , this is Fernando from Argentina. What is the first studio song you recorded for Bon Jovi ? What is the first live song you played with Bon Jovi ? N´ I have a suggestion ... what about changing the pitch of the songs to a whole tone or a tone n a half instead of the half-tone bon jovi does since 1990 +or-. I really think this would be better for jon´s throat , since it´s very rare that anybody at their 25 sings on the same pitch as they did when they were 12 y old ? Its not better or worse , for example if jon would have wrote thank you for loving me (to me one of the best ever) at his 20 he would have to do it on E or Eb. No I don´t expect you to answer this on the website! Fernando - Buenos Aires - Argentina you play perfect bass
Runaway was the first song I recorded with Jon. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night was the first song I played live with the band. Jon's happy with the 1/2 step down. Also, speaking for myself, a whole step would be too low to tune the B string down to.

hello hugh!!! Of the Jovi records, which songs do you think, of the outtakes, that it had to be on the records?? and why?? and do you think that the outtake of "New Jersey" River of love it's similary of Save a prayer of "Keep the faith"... Thanks a lot for this, Steve of Argentina
I don't even remember River of Love. (Senior Moment)

hi Huey do you like Save a prayer? (KTF bonus).
I like "Save A Prayer".

Hey Huey, a friend of mine told me once that your full name is Hugh J. McDonald! So what does the "J." stand for? Btw. Merry Christmas - enjoy the Holidays with Kelli and everyone that is around you Bye Cavi
How ironic is this?.....John

Hi Huge!!! Thanks for the time to do this... What do you think of the songs "Ballad of youth", "Church of desire" of the Richie' s album??? see ya
I wish I'd played on them.

What song or songs have the best bass line? You know something that just makes our
beloved butt bouncin bassist GROOVE! ~ G.G.

"Keep the Faith" and "Living on a Prayer"...take your pick!

Hello again!! can you send me the tabs of "Homebound train"????? It drives me crazy and I can't figure it out... and do you know if the solo of Dry County were made enterely by Richie???? Thanks Steve.
The solo in Dry County is entirely Richie.
You can probably find the tabs for "Homebound Train" in a Bon Jovi songbook for "New Jersey".

Whats your favourite song of Bon Jovi??? Do you know Love is war????? seee ya
My favorite Bon Jovi song is "Prayer" and, yep, I know Love is War.

What is the reason for tuning down the instruments, what's the effect? Petra from Germany
It just works better that way when we're playing live.

Hi Hugh! Do you have any favorite songs off the new album? Love Linda, Sweden
"It's My Life" is my favorite

Hello, My name is Andreas and i'm from Switzerland. I've seen that you worked since the first Bon Jovi Album in the band. But what excatly did you do because the official Bassplayer at this time was Alec? Did you play the second bass or another instrument? Thanks for answering and keep rockin'
I played the bass in the studio.

Hi Hugh, I know that you guys tune down your instruments half a step live. My question is, how does David cope with this? Does he manually play half a step down? eg E = Eb. Joe F
There's a button on his keyboard that transposes automatically.

My question is... Why do you not get into the fan stuff as much, i.e backstage, pictures ect? Thanks for the past years and for the 7 concerts you rocked for me this past tour. Lisa from IL (aka Jovifn2, look for the plate while in IL)
I'm shy

You have responded to a question about you being to tall to be official member of Bon Jovi from Kitty, I was wondering how tall are you, and was Kelly at Ibrox, In the jeep behind the two cars as you entered the Stadium. thx Luv Kes
6'2" / Kelli was at Ibrox.

Just wondering who are your favorite artists/bands to listen to? Could we possibly get a list of " HUGE'S top five albums that rock?"Thanks so much. Lots of love. BassBabe/Shari
I don't have a "top five", but I love anything Beatles.

Hi Huey, My name is Helen and I'm from the UK. Been a huge Jovi fan since '86 and just wondered whether you are officially a member of the Bon Jovi "Brotherhood" and whether you were ever presented with the "superman" Gold and Diamond pendent all the other band members wore during the 80's and part of the 90's? Keep Kockin and can't wait til the next tour and if you're ever in London, see you there?! H x
Yes, I have a pendant.
