Hi Huey, It is the pests from Scotland again. I have alwayswondered, I have the lyrics to "Save a prayer" in myhead, but I cant remember how I know this, since the song does not appear on any album, please can you tellme where I might of heard this, as it has been bugging away at me. I also want to say congratulations to Jon andDorothea, on the birth of their new son Romeo. As a matter of interest is Romeo going to have the same
pronouncation as "Romeo and Juliet" or is it the traditional Italian pronouncation, "RO-MAY-O" as in the car "Alpha Romeo". Many thanks again for your time. Tania and Caroline, Edinburgh Scotland x.

I thought you could tell me, 'cause it's been bugging me! "Romeo and Juliet"

Hi Huey/Hugh. My name is Morten and I coming from Norway so sorry my english.I am a BIG Bon Jovi fan.. And you are my Bass Idol... You play so good that makes me feel like a beginner on the bass. I won`t to have a Sadowsky 5 string bass like you too but i don`t have no money.. How much did it cost. Are Bon Jovi coming to Norway soon..??? Have a nice and a rocky day...
I don't know when we'll be in Norway. Sadowsky's are expensive, but worth every penny.

Hello Hugh! I`d like to ask you one thing! Why doesn`t
BJ release more live stuff? I think Pearl Jam and Peter
Gabriel released in the last years their live concerts!
Not so expansive and only in simple covers. But so the
fans can get the concert they like or they have been
to in a good quality. At least I wanna say that it is nice
from you to spend time to answer questions from fans.
I don`t think Jon would do the same. So it is not important
to be a full member of Bon Jovi, it`s important to be a full
member in the minds and hearts of the fans! Wish you all
the best from good old Germany. Jürgen
Releasing more live albums is out of my hands. Thank you!

Hi Hugh! Gee-Ann from South Africa again! I noticed
in the Bon Jovi "The Crush Tour" DVD as well as in the
"This Left Feels Right: Live" DVD, Jon introduces the
band members and refers to you as "Huge Mc Donald".
Why is this? You always seem to laugh when he does this
and I am just curious as to why he calls you by this name.
Another thing I noticed on the "This Left Feels Right: Live"
DVD, is that Jon tells the audience that Richie calls him
'Frank' and he calls Richie 'Dean'. Why is this? Has Jon
learned to use the computer yet? I remember the
interview he had on the Crush Tour DVD when he
mentioned that ".....not burning popcorn in the microwave
is a computer success to me......" Anyway, enjoy the rest
of your day and I hope to see you guys in South Africa
soon! Take Care, Love Gee-Ann )
"Huge" is short for Hugh...also, I'm tall.
Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin
Jon is now computer literate.

I recently purchased the AFL CD with Neurotica. I love the
song. I like the heavy guitar in it, sounds like Richie's Flying-V.
It really fits with the rest of the songs on the CD. Did you go
back into the studio to do this remix or did Obie use stuff he
already had? Thanks. Sandy, Colorado Soul Sister
Obie remixed something we'd already recorded.

Dear Huey, I'm a Bon Jovi fan from Brazil. I think you have answered this question many times in the past, but I wanna know if you had difficulties or had been criticized when you
substituted Alec John Such. You both are good bass players but with different performances on the stage, how it was for you? Thanx,Fernando Didier

No difficulties and no real criticisms...it's been great!

Hello... is there any chance that the band would work again with Bob Rock??? Is Richie making another solo????? Thanks for the time. See ya in Argentina
*There's always a chance. I'm not sure if Richie's making a solo record.

jelouuuuu how are you? I would like to know how it was the change of enter the local that you´re about to play in bus to enter in limo???? Do you miss the roadies???? gracias por hacer esto!!!
Yes, I miss the roadies.

What would your dream car be? It can be new or
a classic? Both if you care to share 'cause its your
site Groove Master! LOL ~ Love ya! G.G.
An Aston Martin Vanquish in "British Racing Green" with a "saddle" interior

Hey Huey! Just curious.....I have a collection of Richie guitar picks from various shows, and he once told me that he chooses the different phrases on the picks for each tour himself. I've yet to catch a Huey pick, but just wondered if you also have different phrases on your picks? Cheerz! El xx
Simply "Huge" on my picks.

Mr. McDonald,Are you familiar with Donald "Duck" Dunn? What do you think of his style and do you ever find yourself incorporating the old STAX feel into any of your bass lines? Don't you agree that Mr. Dunn is under rated as a very important bassist as far as the role of bassists are concerned? I feel his playing DEFINES what playing a bass is all about. Thanks! Roger
I whole-heartedly agree!

Hi Hugh, Gee-Ann from South Africa again! I just want to say thank-you for responding to my last email about whether Bon Jovi will be touring South Africa again. I just wish you knew the answer though, but still, I really appreciate it! I have some questions for you that I hope you are able to answer. Firstly, what do you do in your spare time? You know, when you're not playing with Bon Jovi! Like Jon has his acting career & Philadelphia Soul and Tico has his painting, what do you enjoy doing? Secondly, what does it feel like to be up on that stage with thousands of screaming fans in front of you? I have always wished I could be one of those fans on the side of the stage during the concert. It must be so awesome! Thirdly, are you, Jon, Richie, David & Tico as down-to-earth and fun as you all seem to be? Lastly, I have a book called "Jon Bon Jovi: The Biography" by Laura Jackson. It is an excellent book and it really gives you an idea as to how hard Jon worked to become the greatest rock star of all time. Please let Jon know from me that I think he is an inspiration to many and I just want to thank him & the rest of the guys for giving the fans what they want......Bon Jovi: The Greatest Band Of All Time! Anyway, you probably think I'm f*#@in' nuts by now. So let me just say thank-you for taking the time to read and answer my email. Take Care. Love, Gee-Ann
Funny you should ask! I'm f*#@in' nuts in my spare time. I'm very appreciative to get to play in front of that many people. It's fantastic! And yes, we're all down to earth.

Hugh, It was a very cool to see you playing bass at the Soul game
today during the pre-game celebration. What a pleasant surprise.
Who were the other musicians in the band? Sandy, Colorado Soul Sister
Obie on Keyboards
Mike Rew on Trumpet
Joe Bellia on Drums
Eddie Manion on Sax
Bob Bandiera on Guitar

hello, so this is a quick one before I go to work!!! Did you or the rest of the band listen to the Doors, Velvet Underground or Pink Floyd???? Is there any influence of ´em on the music you write??? Thanks!!!
I don't think those particular bands were an influence.

I love getting this little updates in my email inbox about your site. OK, I have a question for you. Did you aspire to be a "famous" musician or is that just how it worked out because of your talent? When not performing, do you enjoy being in the limelight or is it difficult being recognized by people, watching everything you do, wherever you go? If you were gauranteed the same amount of success and $........would you choose it with fame or without? Thx!
I'd be happy with success and money without the fame.

Hey mister McDonald, Would you like the idea of playing some more These Days and some rare tracks on the Bon Jovi concerts? The best, Thierry
That'd be great!

Hi Huey, I'm from Montreal and you know we love very much Bon Jovi. My question is How is it to work with John,Richie,Tico and David?? Pls come back to see us in 2004, Thanks and bienvenue in Montreal. Best regards, Louise. I'm an old fan since 20 years
Like family!

Hey Huey! When is your birthday again? Wasn't it somewhere near christmas? My birthday was Dec. 26, I just turned 15. Also just wanted to say thanks for the bounce tour and especially the 2 concerts in Philly I went to, First Union Center and Veterans Stadium. Thanks! Ashley
December 28. You beat me by two days! Happy Birthday!

Hugh, what is the bass that you use with the multi coloured stars on it???
( I saw this for the first time at Hyde Park) I am a bass player myself and
really like it. Can you shed some light for me. Also why did you decide
to use Sadowski basses?? Chris, England
It was built by Chris Hofscheider (Lumpy's guitar tech).
I love the way Sadowski's sound.

Do the cowboyboots on the pic look like those jon was wearing on an evening with bon jovi?and second:-isn´t ur biological clock ready for a kid now, too, now that tico´s got his first son?
It's hard to tell from the picture. My biological clock is very ready.

Hello Hugh. I've been receiving updates from this "Ask Hugh" thing for a while and thought it was high time I wrote in myself. I saw you once outside Bon Jovi's hotel in London on the Crush tour but alas didn't have anything for you to sign (I had a fist full of early Jovi vinyl but that was about it. Nothing post Alec). Anyway, since then I've started playing bass (I started halfway through June) and thought I'd better send a shout in your direction because I'm finding it really difficult and I'd probably get on better if I had some words of encouragement from a member of the best band in the world. Drumming was so much easier... I am admittedly a bit inebriated and haven't yet figured out where I'm going with this mail other than the obligatory "You're the f~@:ing nuts" comments. Becoming therefore very aware that this probably won't make the list as it has no more value than any other vote of confidence but I'm of the opinion that it's better to send a crap mail than no mail at all. Yours, Duncan
Thanks for the crap mail. I enjoyed reading it! Have a drink for me!

Hi Huey, so nice that you have time to answer your fans - thanx a lot.
I want to know from you - what do you like most in Germany? Which city
is your favourit one and what makes it so special? Do you can imagine
to move to Germany once a time? Luv Petra, Ludwigshafen
Bubenreuth is great. Yes, I could see myself living there.

Hello, Phil here, 30+ years bassist. I just read that you played on all the JBJ albums. My previous understanding was that Alec Jon Such did but he was problematic in the studio and they had to “punch + mend” his way through the recording, live and learn. Do you find that the sound systems in Japan are superior to anywhere else? I’ve been there twice and have been quite amazed by their standard of sound. I must say, your web site is quite good. I don’t understand why some other bass players don’t do the same. For example, Doug Pinnick of King’s X doesn’t have anything and his band site is horrible. They don’t seem to get it. Do you like him – his playing? Do you use a “bass pre”. I have an old Sadowski one which I love. Thanks.- Phil
When we play in Japan we use our own sound system. We carry our own sound system everywhere. I'm very happy with my website. Liz does a GREAT job. I have the Sadowsky pre built into the Sadowsky basses that I use and I love it. I'm a big fan of Doug Pinnick's playing.

Hello Hugh, my name is Rui I been living in America for 13 years, I came from Brazil, I always was a musician, my first instrument was a bass, but since I moved to America I've been playing drums, I went to private lessons to video I considered myself a good drummer, but the bass still my dream, recently I filled to starting studing bass at Newark music school of arts, my question is. People say that those school take to long to teach and you go nowhere, and its just a waste of time, the secret is you have to get to know people, I really don’t know what to do, one thing I know music runs trough my blood .I should I have to do to be I good musician and be somebody.Txs Rui
School's not such a bad idea. Play what you enjoy and enjoy what you play.

Hey Huey you and sir Paul are my influences i have learned
to play Daytripper, come together, come as you are and
just finished "keep the faith" awesome bassline but the tab i learned
off of doesnt seem quite right can you post that tab or the notes when
possibles also any advice for a struggling novice bass player? Tim
I don't have any idea how to post the tabs for you.
Wish I could help you more.
Some advice? Simple is best.

Huey:Greetings from Angangueo, Michoacán, México
My family it is fan of Bon Jovi, and your always you were part of them. Congratulations by its talent. EXCUSE MY English That opinion you have of the Mexican public? Rodrigo Bautista Martínez and family.

The Mexican public seems to be very knowledgeable about Bon Jovi's music. They're great fans. How come they can drink the water and I can't?

hello again!!!!!!
I've got two more questions...
1- Is Richie still using GHS 008 or 009???
2- Did Jon think to make another spanish version of any song on Crush or Bounce (I guess Thank you for loving me or All about loving you)????
Thousand thanks for take the time to read and answer°!!!!!!

I'm not privy to that information.

Hi Huey, this a HUGE thank you ......... from 5 crazy girls Do you remember - the last show in Germany from this tour ? June, 17th. in Kiel, Jon turned to you and said "Huey play that" - pointing at us. You saw our FEVER-banners and started playing the first notes of the song - we were freaking out! We wanna thank you for playing it Did you ever play it live before with BJ ? We know it was played at the shows in the late 80´s and at a few shows during KTF - area, with Alec. But the excellent and spontaneous musician you are - of course you knew the song We´d like to know: did you enjoy playing Fever ? You played it again 2 times later during the 2nd. leg of the US-tour. Please say thanks to the rest of the gang too - we had a brilliant and unforgetable time. We´re looking forward to see you in Germany again soon. YOU ROCK!!!! Merry x-mas and happy holidays, Ilo, Karin, Ingrid, Manu & Tina
Jon points, I play

Hi!! How much are the band, Jon and The Korzilius management
involved in the final decisions of the band (meaning tours, videos,
schedules, pickups singles), I mean how much is each of one??? Thank you
I'm clueless.

Heya! Thanks for answering so many of our Q's! That means a lot to us fans. Here comes another one: I'm wondering what you guys think about the way your fans talk to you. I know the English language doesn't differentiate between (the German) "Du" (informal) and "Sie" (formal) - it's all just "you" and therefore much easier. But do you like it when your fans call you Hugh or Huey when they meet you or would you prefer Mr. McDonald? How about the other band members? I've never thought about that before. Maybe it's because Bon Jovi is always around me and I've shared my rooms with you guys for such a long time ;o) so it would never come into my mind to say "Hi Mr. Torres" or "Hi Mr. Bongiovi" should I ever meet one of you. But maybe it's disrespectful because you never met me before? KTF ~ Petra (Germany)
Mr. McDonald was my father. I'm just Hugh, Huey, Huggie, Huge, Hooey..... Call me whatever you want, just don't call me late for dinner!

Hi Huey, has much been said since the release of the book by Michael Francis ex-security man for Bon Jovi? If so , have you read it, and is life still the same for a Rock 'n' Roll band ? Ayed from Sydney Australia.
I haven't read it. I didn't know about it. Send me a copy!

Hello. Listen to "Say it isn't so", "If I could make a living..." "Ordinary
People" I was thinking... do you still think that you can write
"down to earth" songs. I mean livin in hotel rooms and anything
else that surrounds a rock lifestyle do you still in contact with the
street corner way of life that the people who listen you have????
Thanxxxxxxx a lot and merry xmas
I'm not involved in the writing of the songs. I can relate to a "normal" life because I live one.

Hello, a lot of thanks to take this time... Is Jon's voice so hurt that he has to downtowning songs so new as Undivided and Everyday????I mean I understand that he has to do that with Prayer and Faith beause of the time but with the new ones....
If you're talking about the new album, the keys were changed in some of the songs to give them a different flavor.

Hello. Do you still remember the songs on "Trash" of Alice Cooper, it's a great album for me... don't you think of doing "House of fire" or "Hell is living...." live with the boys???? Thanks
Which boys are you refering to?

Hello again. Are you friends of Alec????????? Thank you to take the time to do this
Yes I am.

When I met you on June 1st you have been wearing some necklace. Does it has some special meaning or was is just like "saw it - looked nice - bought it" ? bye cavi
Kelli gave it to me. She saw it-looked nice-bought it.
It's actually a Celtic symbol for the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Hello, how it was xmasss???? How long it's been since you the last time you see the boyz???? and it wouldn't be great to make an "access all areas 2" with the extra footage of the crush and bounce tour including the footage of the bj.com videos????? May I be your manager for a while????? Thanks for answer. Steve from Argentina
I was with Jon on New Year's Eve. I saw David a couple of days before that. I've spoken to Richie and Tico on the phone. They're all doing great!

Hi Huey, I was born and raised in Louisiana. I love everything about the guitar-bass/electric etc... I'm now a 40 year old girl who still love the music and the talent you guys display. Any chance of you visiting my hometown of New Orleans and playing at the "House of Blues" or other music venues there. Bon Jovi played at "House" a couple of years back and so did Richie on his solo tour. It would great to hear you rock us solo. Adoneca
Virtually no chance of seeing me solo. I'm strictly a team player.

Hello Hugh, Do you own every Bon Jovi DVD or CD that you have made or do you think it's fine after you come out of the studio, I mean, have you had enough of recording by then?? Isn't that weird then to listen or watch to yourself??? Love, D.D.
I have them all. They bring back memories.

Hi Hugh,
Do you know whatever happened to Suzanne Fellini? Other than that one record with you and a "supposed" live NYC radio broadcast, I can't find any info anywhere as to what happened.
I've totally enjoyed your playing from back then on-keep rockin! Thanks, Mark

I loved that record. I don't know what happened to her.

hi again... is it true that the management of Bon Jovi wants 800 000 bucks
to come to argentina and they didn't came for the 500 000 that the
local promoter offered???? Bon Jovi and especially the album of Richie (stranger...)
are a big part of my life and I am very angry about the fact that it´s
been years since the last time you came down here,
I wanna hear Two story town live!!!!! Thanks for answering!!! Steve
I have no idea what goes on in the office.

Hello from Japan!! I'm very glad to hear that you love Sushi ! Well, What kind of Sushi would you like? Can you eat raw fish?? and Every time you visit Japan, do you usually go to Sushi restaurant?? Hope to see you soon! Sabu
I like raw tuna, yellowtail in particular.

Hello again hugh!!!I want to make you some commentaries about TLFR...
1. Don't you think it could have a song of These days??
2. The version of LYHOM of the "An evening with BJ" it's
a thousand time better than the one on the record!!
3. The version of KTF its "half way there" of the reggae
version that you used to do live
4. Richie could sing I ll be there for you in the studio too!!!!!
Thanks a lot to take the time to read and answering !!!!!!!!!

Interesting comments about the album.

he man
First of all great bass line on everyday on this left feels right!!! I've got a little question for you: why aren't you on any of the official pictures and stuff? I think it's stupid they won't let you!!! Keep up the good work!! Tell the rest of the band I said Hi!! Ciao Joost

I appreciate your thought, but it's not my call

Greetings Hugh. My name is Bill Costello. I am a fellow bassist. In the 32 years of living I have done so far and being a product of the 1980's, I was shocked to find out that you played on all those early Bon Jovi albums. I should probably get out from under the rock I'm under. I live and play in North Jersey. Just finished my first solo cd doing all the instruments. The material is along the lines of adult oriented rock. Had Ty Tabor from King's X master it for me. Big dream come true for me having that done. Anyway, I was wondering if you give private lessons when you are not on the road. Not so much having to do with reading but more or less an approach to groove, feel, and live playing. I've been playing bass for 15 years and have been in and out of lessons that end up disillusioning me to the instrument. When I ended the lessons altogether I found myself enjoying the
bass more. My passion for music and playing live is why I am alive but I sometimes get that: "Am I doing something wrong?" feeling. I figured some help from a bigtime professional might be the way to go. Please let me know at your convenience. Thanks! Bill Costello

I don't give lessons, but if I did I would teach you that "simpler is better" and the "feel" is of the upmost importance. "Groove" is everything.

Do you ever play/sing at home for Kelli? Any favorites? ~Huey's G.G.
No

Hi hughie!!!! First i want to thank you for having answered my last question and hope that your next BJ shows will take place in France... Then, I want to congratulate you and the band for the Left feels rigth album that is really great!!! Excellent idea! So now Hugh can you tell me if the band thinks of doing a SYMPHONIC album like many other bands did (e.g. Kiss, Scorpions, Metallica...)???? I think it would be an interesting job for you to do! Finally, I must tell you that I went to Ostend in June the 8th of 2003 (it was my 2nd BJ show, the first was in June 2001 at Bercy Paris) and you were great! I was at the 2nd row
and was able to admire the all band performing... really good experience and sensation.... hope next time you guy will be on the album sleeve because you are an official member in the fans' heart!!! So what are BJ next plans? See you. Thanks for answering. Strypounette from France!

No plans for a symphonic album.

Just wanted to thank you and your girlfriend for stopping by to say hello to
the Connecticut Jovi Freaks in the "living room" at the Borgata late Saturday
night. We were having a blast making people dance with our signs and we loved
your girlfriend's help!!! I noticed your SWW pendant and was wondering (if
it is not too personal) when you might have gotten it? Thanks again Huey!!!! Kim
I was given my SWW pendant in 1986.

Hey Huey!!!
Thank you or all the UK gigs this summer- I can honestly say it was the best week of my life. As a fellow child of Irish immigrants, I was just curious as to what part of Ireland your family are predominantly from- mine are from Mayo and Galway. Also, what is the best way to get to meet you guys? I'd give my right arm just to be able to say hello to you all just once. Thanks for everything. Liza, London

I'm not sure what part of Ireland my family is from because I'm the third or fourth generation, at least. Keep your right arm and keep your fingers crossed. You never know when you'll run into one of us.

Hey Hugh,
Longtime fan here, I think your a very talented musician and see on your
discography that you've worked with alot of artists in the past. My question
is: I see you played on Alice Cooper's album Hey Stoopid. There is alot of
talent on that album including two of my favorite San Francisco bay area
guitarists Joe Satriani (love his solo career just an amazing guitarist) and
Stef Burns (current lead guitarist of Huey Lewis and the News) So I imagined
that you were in studio with them or met sometime during the making of that
album. So would you work with them again in the future if asked? Do you
keep in touch? Also your thoughts on those two guitarists??
Thanks and keep on rockin', Jere
I didn't meet Joe Satriani. He wasn't there for the basic tracks. Stef Burns was there with me for the recording sessions. He was very impressive and I would love to work with him again. He's an all-around great guy.

Hi Hugh! When you are playing live with Bon Jovi, how much freedom do you have to improvise? Are there certain songs that you can go a little wild with and still maintain the basic sound & structure of the tune? Lisa at OperationBonJovi.com
I don't tend to improvise, but I have a free hand to play whatever I want.

Just wondered what is your favorite place to eat? Do you have any favorite foods? You travel a lot so just wanted to get the scoop. Thanks Lots of love. BassBabe/Shari
The Downtown Cafe in Red Bank, NJ is my favorite place to eat.

Saki, sushi, Kelli

just wondered if you have any superstitions or rituals you follow before a concert. Do you still get a case of nerves, or is it just the adrenaline? Thanks. Lot of love. BassBabe/Shari
No superstitions. Sometimes nerves, but usually adrenaline.

A chat? Aren't we chatting right now?

Hi Hugh!!! Nice to ask you questions from your web site! Do you and Bon Jovi know that you have any fans in France and that they are so sad of being excluded of each tour.... Can you explain why the band refuses to perform in France??? French fans are really disappointed of such a behaviour because they buy all the albums, keep inform thanks to the French unofficial web site and pray for any promotion in France!!!! What about the problem with our country guy!! Do you like France?French people feel like excluded because they do not have many consideration!!Please can you solve such a problem.... Strypounette from France
I don't know why we haven't been to France lately, but I know that we've played there before.

burger "king" or McDonald-s? thx for answerin my last(first)question my first jovial contact was 1986-badName(video)MTV[not=magyar televizio] greetings to alec Robert Meyer-Acs
McDonald's...of course!

Hey Huey! Just wondered if you like to read to pass the time on the road? Magazines or Book's? What type of Mag's or books and do you have any favorite author's? Thank's Big Man! Lotsa Love ~ Huey's G.G.
One of my favorite things to do is to hit bookstores/magazine stands such as "Borders" and "Barnes and Noble". I look at everything. No favorite author.

I saw a Fabulous picture of you and the lovely Kelli here on the site and I must say Huey I've never seen you look better or happier! ( Go Kelli!!! WEG) I don't know if you will answer it or if it is too personal but I was wondering how you met? Also how tall is Kelli as you are "Huge" McDonald and she didn't look too short there beside you? Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions! Lotsa Love ~ April / Huey's G.G.
We met in church. Kelli is basically 6'0"

Hi Huey, on the Crush DVD Live from Zurich Switzerland, in the song 'Lay your hands on me' , I took notice that while Jon was down below next to the fans shaking hands that Richie and yourself were up close jamming with each other, it is very evident that you apparently played a bass line that pleased Richie and gave you his nod of approval....is there a set routine type bass line that you may play for example in a song like Lay your hands... that may differ from concert to concert, or is it always played the same way each and every time... Regards Ayed from Sydney Australia.
It's basically the same bass line, but occasionally I change things.

Hugh, please help me ...save me from going insane (ok, more insane)
In the song Someday I'll Be Saturday Night, does the lyric line run "I
want to BLOW myself away..." or "I want to ROLL myself away". I've
got money riding on this, and whilst a Universal Bon Jovi guitar tab and
lyric book says "..blow" all the lyrics sites I've searched say
"...roll". I think it's "blow myself away" cos (a) it makes more
sense and (b) I think that's what JBJ sings....what IS right? love Rizzo
NI always thought it was "blow myself away", but I don't know for sure.

Hi, Huey! I’m from Japan. I enjoyed four shows in Japan in January and the final shows at Giants. They were great!!! I hope you enjoy your day off now. What are you doing on your holidays? And one more Q…do you like Japanese food? Hiromi
I'll be spending a lot of time with my girlfriend, my mom, and my puppy.I love sushi

Hi Huey, saw you play in Manila in '95. Did the guys in the band ever talk to you about the riot when they first played here in '93? You've got a good sense of humor and a lot of patience and control (on stage at least). Thanks for playing!---Clarence in Manila
No, they never told me about the riot.

Hey Huey ! I was be on stage in mannheim 03. I was in the third group right (the little girl with long blond hair and the black bounce shirt ) and you waved your hand to me. thank you for this ! now my question: I would like to know which is your favourite bon jovi song/ album (not to play, only listen) ??? Thank you, Anne from Berlin
It changes daily depending on how I feel

Thanks to you and all the guys for a great concert in Dublin(no surprise its always brill)
I was 2nd row just in front of you and Dave,Jon always says you all love Dublin and it shows but this year he said when you came to the Us they stamped you twice once on your passport and once on your ass, were you born in Ireland? The 2nd question I want to ask is would you consider coming to the North again I live in Carrickfergus and it would be great to go to Dublin and Belfast. Thanks once again for the Concert and for taking the time to answer all our questions it is really appreciated. Just for info my husband and I have been fans from the beg. Iwas born in 1953 same as Tico and Billy(my hubby) same as you in 1950. Love and Jovi Kisses Marilyn (Green)

I'm 100% Irish, but I wasn't born in Ireland.

Saw you in Noblesville and as usual, you all ROCKED THE HOUSE The acoustic set was really awesome. My question is this: Though you are all having fun playing for us, and making the money, you have to get bored. What are your favorite ways to fight off boredom and home sickness? All The Best, Bass Babe/Shari
Being on the road is rarely boring and when I yearn for home I bring her out to visit me.

I love them all. They're like my brothers. I can't choose one.

Hi Huey!
How are you? Do you have any preview to share with us about the acoustic album?
Is "Strum as you are" really the working title? What's happening in the studio?
Thanks for being with us! Bye! Matteo
If I told you, I'd have to kill myself

Hi Huey !!! First of all wanted to say that you rock !!! I ' ve been to the Ostend-show (Belgium) Truly amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now was just wondering ... after doing sooooo many concerts together with the band ... Don't you wanna be a full member of the band ??? I know a lot of fans would like it Greetings, Valerie (Belgium)
That's a hard question to answer. It is what it is.

Hi there, you`ve been with bon jovi a lot of years now n the fans love n respect u,
is it nice 2 meet us n do u get any hassle?
Charlie uk

It’s always great to meet fans. No hassle.

Hi Hugh,
Just like to say I say you and the Bon Jovi guys in Wolverhampton this year, great show!
My question is, who would you say has been the best artist/band to work with? Who's given you the most freedom on records/live?
Thanks,Will

Thanks Will. Wolverhampton was a lot of fun. I'm glad the rain held off!To answer your question, I'd have to say that Bon Jovi has been the best band to work with. After 20 years of working together, we're family. Basically, everybody has input on what everyone else plays. I have total freedom to play what I want.

Hey Huey! Obie mentioned on bj.com that you were a great football player. Did you play in high school and/or college? What position did you play and what number did you wear? Thank you so much for this FABULOUS opportunity to find out more about our beloved bassist! Lotsa Love, Huey's G.G. , April Burger
Hi! As usual, Obie has severely embellished my football career! Obie and I used to play football every weekend with our friends on the block. It's amazing that we didn't kill each other! Other than that, I played in the eighth grade (and not even the whole season)! Can't remember the position or if I even had a number! These days, my football career consists of watching a good game on TV.

Hugh, I have a video of Cher in Concert in Las Vegas back in the late 80's, one where there's a brief shot of Richie and Cher in a corridor backstage. The bass player in the concert looks like you, and I've been told it IS you.....is that right? If that's you. All I can say is that you don't seem to have aged at all - what's your secret?JanB
Yes, it was me. What's my secret for not aging? Living with a younger woman and being in love.

Hello Huey !!
So cool to be able to ask you Q from here Beside loving "watching" football on tv what hobby do you have ?What kind of music do you listen to ?Hope to see you soon on the road again Big hugs from the Hosokawa family

Big hugs right back at ya! Love that little Saki Hobby? My job is my hobby. Music? I try to keep an open mind to everything. I have my favorites, but they're too many to mention.

Hiya Huey! Just wondering if you think Jon is as handsome in real life as he is on the television! Love Amy xx, (from Newcastle, UK)
I can't keep my hands off him

That's all! Enjoy!

The Milton Keynes show of 1996 was even better! I'm hoping to see you and the band this year if you decide to tour the UK. My question is this, other than "Keep The Faith" what other songs have you come up with the bass line for? P.S. I'm the other person who makes glasses look really, really cool! (Gavin, Essex, UK)
I came up with the bass lines for everything I've played on.
That's was me! I'm Gavin! I'm glad someone's found this!
