I love getting this little updates in my email inbox about your site. OK, I have a question for you. Did you aspire to be a "famous" musician or is that just how it worked out because of your talent? When not performing, do you enjoy being in the limelight or is it difficult being recognized by people, watching everything you do, wherever you go? If you were gauranteed the same amount of success and $........would you choose it with fame or without? Thx!
I'd be happy with success and money without the fame.
Hey mister McDonald, Would you like the idea of playing some more These Days and some rare tracks on the Bon Jovi concerts? The best, Thierry
That'd be great!
Hi Huey, I'm from Montreal and you know we love very much Bon Jovi. My question is How is it to work with John,Richie,Tico and David?? Pls come back to see us in 2004, Thanks and bienvenue in Montreal. Best regards, Louise. I'm an old fan since 20 years
Like family!
Hey Huey! When is your birthday again? Wasn't it somewhere near christmas? My birthday was Dec. 26, I just turned 15. Also just wanted to say thanks for the bounce tour and especially the 2 concerts in Philly I went to, First Union Center and Veterans Stadium. Thanks! Ashley
December 28. You beat me by two days! Happy Birthday!
Hugh, what is the bass that you use with the multi coloured stars on it???
( I saw this for the first time at Hyde Park) I am a bass player myself and
really like it. Can you shed some light for me. Also why did you decide
to use Sadowski basses?? Chris, England
It was built by Chris Hofscheider (Lumpy's guitar tech).
I love the way Sadowski's sound.
Do the cowboyboots on the pic look like those jon was wearing on an evening with bon jovi?and second:-isn´t ur biological clock ready for a kid now, too, now that tico´s got his first son?
It's hard to tell from the picture. My biological clock is very ready.
Hello Hugh. I've been receiving updates from this "Ask Hugh" thing for a while and thought it was high time I wrote in myself. I saw you once outside Bon Jovi's hotel in London on the Crush tour but alas didn't have anything for you to sign (I had a fist full of early Jovi vinyl but that was about it. Nothing post Alec). Anyway, since then I've started playing bass (I started halfway through June) and thought I'd better send a shout in your direction because I'm finding it really difficult and I'd probably get on better if I had some words of encouragement from a member of the best band in the world. Drumming was so much easier... I am admittedly a bit inebriated and haven't yet figured out where I'm going with this mail other than the obligatory "You're the f~@:ing nuts" comments. Becoming therefore very aware that this probably won't make the list as it has no more value than any other vote of confidence but I'm of the opinion that it's better to send a crap mail than no mail at all. Yours, Duncan
Thanks for the crap mail. I enjoyed reading it! Have a drink for me!
Hi Huey, so nice that you have time to answer your fans - thanx a lot.
I want to know from you - what do you like most in Germany? Which city
is your favourit one and what makes it so special? Do you can imagine
to move to Germany once a time? Luv Petra, Ludwigshafen
Bubenreuth is great. Yes, I could see myself living there.
Hello, Phil here, 30+ years bassist. I just read that you played on all the JBJ albums. My previous understanding was that Alec Jon Such did but he was problematic in the studio and they had to “punch + mend” his way through the recording, live and learn. Do you find that the sound systems in Japan are superior to anywhere else? I’ve been there twice and have been quite amazed by their standard of sound. I must say, your web site is quite good. I don’t understand why some other bass players don’t do the same. For example, Doug Pinnick of King’s X doesn’t have anything and his band site is horrible. They don’t seem to get it. Do you like him – his playing? Do you use a “bass pre”. I have an old Sadowski one which I love. Thanks.- Phil
When we play in Japan we use our own sound system. We carry our own sound system everywhere. I'm very happy with my website. Liz does a GREAT job. I have the Sadowsky pre built into the Sadowsky basses that I use and I love it. I'm a big fan of Doug Pinnick's playing.
Hello Hugh, my name is Rui I been living in America for 13 years, I came from Brazil, I always was a musician, my first instrument was a bass, but since I moved to America I've been playing drums, I went to private lessons to video I considered myself a good drummer, but the bass still my dream, recently I filled to starting studing bass at Newark music school of arts, my question is. People say that those school take to long to teach and you go nowhere, and its just a waste of time, the secret is you have to get to know people, I really don’t know what to do, one thing I know music runs trough my blood .I should I have to do to be I good musician and be somebody.Txs Rui
School's not such a bad idea. Play what you enjoy and enjoy what you play.
