Default The most irritating thing...

My friend said the most irritating thing to me the other day. We were talking about how it said somewhere (I think the Aerosmith autobiography) that Desmond Child wrote LOAP FOR Bon Jovi, not WITH them. (It actually said, "Desmond Child, who wrote Bon Jovi's LOAP"). But anyway, she's like, "What if he really wrote it for them?" And I'm like, "That's not true, they wrote it together, haven't you seem Ultimate Album?" and she was like, "Yeah but, there is nothing on that that says he didn't write it for them." Well obviously, there is but I can't remember exactly right now. Anyway, so I asked her why in the album booklet, it says Jon, Richie and Desmond wrote it, and she said they just could have put their names on it. Which I think it completely ridiculous because why would Desmond just let them do that?

She still didn't believe me.

What do you guys think about it?

no way. jon always says he doesn't sing something he didn't write (of course live covers excepted) like he hates she don`t know me cause he didn`t write it. he wouldn't have accepted the song if it wasn't by him and rich.

I agree, that info is wrong. Why would Jon and Richie's names be on the credits for the song along with Desmond Child's? And why would they claim they wrote it with Desmond? Bon Jovi doesn't strike me as a band that would steal someone elses song. Why would they need too? They are awesome songwriters and I think the best out there. Totally false.

I don't think that Desmond Child sat all alone in Richie's mother's basement and wrote this song.

Yeah. Besides, weren't Tommy and Gina (or the real people the charachters are based on) in Jon's high school or something. It would be strange is Des would write about them...

And wasn't it in Bad Medicine where he only wrote one line (I think it was "you get a little and it's never enough" ) and didn't even want writer credits but the guys insist that anybody who influenses the song writing in anyway gets credits? Maybe he wrote the "woo-hoo"s on Prayer...

Not the whoowhoo but wasn't he the one who suggested the talkbox? I think I remember something like this.

Don't know for sure, but I think I remember Richie saying it was his idea. His way of putting a bit of 'Richie Sambora' on the song or smthing...

What i remember , desmond Child wanted to give it to KISS because Jon didn't like it. Was it that way????Or he wrote it for KISS , they didn't want it and then he "rewrote" it with the guys. i think it was that way.
I bet Desmond wrote 70% of Prayer.
