Can you language police please take that to NBJ...

This intolerance is nonsensical! If people want to choose to write like that and you don't like it, don't read it and don't reply. If you have nothing constructive to write, why bother. I'd sooner read a post like that and answer it properly than read through pages and pages of you slagging off a completely irrelevant aspect of the thread. It's boring, pathetic and sad!

So true. I was actually looking forward to reading proper replies to this topic, and couldn't care less if some people thought that the post was hard to read or not. If you don't like it, fine, but don't ruin a perfectly good thread for discussion for the rest of us. (I'm a professional in the English language and poor use of language really annoys me but this is a message board ffs, not an English lesson).
On to the more interesting of the two topics in this thread.

I feel like that too, I've met some of my idols who have been fantastic to meet and I could tell that they also enjoyed the conversation, but I know from the mixture of stories I've heard that it's always a touch-and-go with Jon. I'd actually rather meet Richie, as from the stories I've heard he's always up for a laugh.

Jon definitely didn't want to sing ("to be honest I can't think of anything worse"), I think the thought of stepping into a crowd like that made him uncomfortable. I think he was on a good mood though during the Q&A, even though he was obviously in a hurry to go (if I remember correctly, to have dinner with Claudia Schiffer or similar).
I saw Jon earlier that day, and whilst he wasn't rude to me he wasn't particularly warm either. He did come over and sign an autograph for me, I said something stupid like "looking forward to tonight" or something intelligent along those lines, and he flashed a smile (not The Smile, but a "professional" one). I wasn't disappointed but not over the moon either.
I had a huge revelation though that day - Jon The Man is not actually that good looking, and he doesn't have that much charisma, but Jon The Singer definitely has! I've never had the urge to meet him, and now even less - he's my idol up on the stage, not necessarily on the street.

Classic!!!

This is one of those comments that you think to yourself once the moment has passed, and kick yourself for not thinking it straight away.
