I've had the privilage of meeting Jon on numerous occassions including after shows, videos, and even once while walking in the city. I can tell you for the most part hes been very professional and always willing to sign an autograph, not so much to talk to tho. My 1st experience meeting him was after Bounce taping at Hammerstein Ballroom and he instantly came over signing autographs.
After Misunderstood he was more in a rush then anything to get out but I did manage to get a quick autograph.
After the video shoot for HAND he was def in a better mood and even joked around with me a few times during a course of the shoot.

Yes Jon can have his moments where he doesn't want to be bothered in such instances but can you honestly blame him? We all have our days where dont want anyone to come near us, after all hes only human.

To be fair it was hard to read, but that doesn't bother me - I just didn't read it; but then I scrolled down and all the comments about the original post made me go over it and read it again.

If this board is degenerating then maybe it is because of the number of polls. Or maybe there's only so much to discuss. It doesn't help that people pick teams and bitch, but at least they're not as annoying, in my opinion, as people using an inordinate number of exclamation marks and/or hundreds of extra capital letters on the ends of words.

Going back to the original topic: I don't think I would like to meet Jon. I find that he always looks half asleep when he's not on stage and I generally find that in real life celebrities are smaller than I had hoped. I do not know what this means.

Having said that I would not cross the road to avoid him, or any of the band... but I don't know if I would have the courage to say anything to any of my heroes, especially if it meant interrupting them going about their daily business.

If I did speak, however, I hope I would not imply surplus exclamation marks and undie capitalisation.

LMAO. genius! I've never met Jon but for some reason I have this image of him being a total sweet heart... but I totally understand why he could snap every now and then. I wish I could have met him pre SWW (before they hit the big time). I'm sure he must have been the sweetest person ever (or at least it's a deluded image I had of him)

Has anyone ever met Jon in the 80s?

These must be the two most brilliantly weird things I've read all day .... good stuff!

"Iceman", as hard of a concept as this might be to grasp, this is a MESSAGE BOARD. People aren't coming on here to write Nobel-prize winning literature. And I'm sorry that I don't have time to go out and search for some proof-reading software. You're probably a cool guy, but right now, you're coming off as a pompous asshole.

But back to the main point of the thread, I wouldn't be surprised if Jon really said that. But he was probably just having a bad day or was tired of giving autographs. It's no big deal.

I really don't care how I come off, I'm sick and tired trying to dechipher messages. This IS a message board, so shouldn't you just take that 2 seconds of time to make sure your messages are legible to as many people as possible. If you choose not to, fine, but be prepared to be treated like a retard if you type like one.

This also something I don't understand in some people. Why isn't a celebrity allowed to have bad days as well? It's easy to think that it's not too hard signing an autograph once or twice, but people like Jon have to do it hundreds of times in a week, sometimes even more. Would you like to be interrupted in the middle of your dinner just because some crazy stalker wants your signature?

Weird attitude here. The original post was very readable to me (and Im a Dane) and as someone stated earlier, the thread gets even more messed up with your kinds of replies to it, removing focus and readability. Besides, its common knowledge and friendlyness that one does not point out spelling- and grammar errors in a messageboard, and certainly not in an arrogant way. By your logic, you've completely alienated everyone who doesnt have very good english skills.

Noone likes the forumcop who needs to bash people at random for creating posts he/she cant understand. If it takes 2 seconds for the poster to make his/her message legible..it shouldnt take much longer for you to decipher it either. And since he/she actually contributed with a thread that wasnt a poll/txt thread....one should just ignore the sentence errors and make the best of it.

Anyway, I hope your just having an off-period like Jon had

Number of posts: 5 and you come telling me how to act on this board? That's funny.

No it isn' - what rock have you been living under. I've been using the internet since 1995 and since then people have shown their respect to the people their writing for by having the decency to spell properly. If you can't speak the language, fine (although, that's no real reason either), but when your mother tongue is English and you list "writer" as your profession, you really should no how to spell.

Nope, only native English speakers that are too lazy to type properly. And if that were the case, I'd be happy.

And why should everyone take the time and try to understand illegible posts, when the original poster could've fixed it in no time?

Nope, one should point them out to teach the lazy bastard to type properly the next time.

I'm having an off-day any day I have to read txt-speak on a messageboard. The only good thing about is that I can be sure they'll never go anywhere in life. That has been proven by studies. If you're language skills are that poor, you'll have a hard time getting a decent job.
