It's been what, 11 years since HAND and 9 years since Lost Highway? Heck, 7 years have passed since The Circle. Some love those albums, some like them, some hate them. How much time do you think needs to pass for the appreciation of their inventivness to kick in?
I think a decade is plenty time to learn the "greatness" of these albums. I have not come to that conclusion in that time and simply don't think another decade is going to do the trick.
Describing those albums as great is a stretch for me.
The screw what other people think thread. Here goes (not addressed to Javier).
Those who prefer any post 2000 album over Slippery, New Jersey, Blaze, Faith, or These Days have a poor vision of Bon Jovi.
Why? When Bon Jovi made those classics, there were no better examples of that kind of music, they were producing the best of their genre, or at least equal to the best.
Post 2000, if you happened to like the output (nothing wrong with that) then there were a ton of bands that were doing that kind of thing better.
I expect flames for this, as I know some people cherish the post-2000 work. It is just uncomparable in quality and craft to the classic Jovi era and anyone doing an objective critique would agree I think.
