DC was the second song (after wanted) that made my mouth opened...it was incredible to listen to it...I donīt wonder that just this song saved Bon Jovi...it saved some few fans to kept honour to BJ...I think itīs a pity that BJ donīt have more songs like this, this is music that Iīd like to hear from BJ...(at least somewhile)

Yeah that's the kinda music I like too, and wish Bon Jovi would still make.

You can all get your rocks ready to sling but...I'm glad the song is not played live. Yes yes, I know. I'm just saying, it's a lot more special to me if they don't play it half assed. Remeber how good Hey god and Something for the Pain sounded live? Then remember how they played them again in 2001 and it just wasn't "there"? Maybe it's just me but a song with as much heart and soul as Dry County should not be played any way but the way it was intended. Meh.
You beat me to it, but you are entirely correct. As much as we lament the lack of playing Dry County among other high-impact songs...they do remain special because of that. We would not be lamenting or regard the song as highly if it had been a set staple since the KTF-tour. In fact, at this point it would be regarded as a bathroom break. The song requires complete commitment to performance for authenticity or it falls flat. We hold it in high regard because the live recordings we have of it were all from either the KTF tour or the following Crossroad/These Days tour. It never had a chance to be wore out and it never should be.

I was hoping someone would agree. It's the ever present "Grass is greener" scenario. B-sides are put on a pedestal by everyone because they aren't on an album, and live songs un-played are better than ones that ARE played. At least that's how people see it.

It would be a MAJOR bathroom break song, agreed.

To be fair, it should probably be played at least once before you can judge ... I just listened to Wild Is The Wind from the Bounce tour for example, and it sounds good enough so that I wish I'd actually seen it...

Wild is the wind was good during OWN tour as well.. Perhaps if they rehearsed it a bit more it would be great.

Well Hells Bells, I'm glad I came here and read that today.
I love reading/hearing stuff like that. No wonder I thought Dry County was one damn cool song. Now if only someone could gently knock some sense into them, and convince them to play it live, maybe not constantly but ever so often, that'd be awesome.

Better late than never! I had overlooked this thread and now I've discovered it I think it's great. Thansk for sharing the story. Perhaps the band should look back on it and reconsider some things
