Well yeah true, but in this day and age of albums leaking in advance and making it onto torrent sites, YouTube, etc. there is some free exposure (some legal some not) in order for someone to judge buying the album or not. And of course there's good old fashioned radio and music channels. My point was there's no law against a real fan of a band not owning and liking very official release.

Of course not, I personally like all the Bon Jovi albums, some less than anothers (cof cof, What About Now), but I could completelly understand why somebody wouldn't like some. I mean, is a band with 12 studio records, not everyone can like everything.

This I do not. You don't have to own and like absolutely everything and anything and band releases to call yourself a "real" fan. Why would anyone waste their money buying an album they dont like, or know they're probably not going to like? Aside from blind admiration through Jovi-tinted glasses.

Sorry, I forgot this was YOUR forum.
No, you don't have to like EVERYTHING but you should like the first 2 albums. Maybe not every song on the album but at least have an appreciation towards them. Those albums were the beginning mold of what was to come. If you go back to 1984/85, those songs sounded even better.

And yes, a die-hard should own every album. I hate TLFR but I still own it. that's just how it goes. I can't stand talking to someone who claims to be a die-hard and then they tell me that they don't have a specific album.

Even now I read people say that they don't like the new material after 2 listens so it's not worth buying. That's just stupid.

I love In And Out Of Love. Proper old school hard rock as it's supposed to be! Especially with that into that they used to do in 1985.

At the same time, I want to throw up at Rdkopper's 12 year old post. 'Real fan' bohooo!!! Who the **** gives a shit?! At this point, I don't own ANY records. Not of AC/DC, not of Wolfmother, not of anyone. I stream all my music. Bon Jovi is dead anyway, but being told by a 50+ year old moron that I am not a fan because I stream music is a bit ridiculous, isn't it?

Just saying.

Don't own any of the record physically anymore either. Have bought them all in the past at some point (although I bought WAN on the weekend for my son). Anyway, judging by some of the die hards on this board I will happily say that I am not a Bon Jovi fan.
