I guess that wasn't the intention of his comment. Many fans were upset because at that time the band kept raving in interviews about how they went through tons of live shows for this album and then the compilation pretty much consisted of songs that were released as B-sides or to be heard on several radio broadcasts before which felt like a huge letdown.
And most of the songs chosen are far from their best performances - I'd even go that far and say only Runaway was one if its best on there and maybe Rockin' and In And Out Of Love.

I'd add Something to Believe In to that list as well. I think that's the only live version of that song that I've heard but rating it amongst the other tracks on the album, it's one of the best.

I know we're deviating from the main topic a bit but the track list alone on OWN still baffles me. Just a weird combination of songs. I mean imagine if the same songs were chosen for a Greatest Hits album?

I don't think any of us were looking for a compilation of rarities like IIWYM but it would have been so much better to give us one show on a disc (or 2 discs). They could have edited it to include pretty much all the hits to appeal to the casuals.

What they produced was just an strange bunch of songs and a completely disjointed album because it was taken across a 15 year period.

From a great live act, it was an awful attempt at a live album. I believe Obie was mostly responsible for it which is why I shuddered when he was talking about putting the box set together. Thankfully, he did a top class job on that.

'Something To Believe In's outro is cut to shreds though.

Yea that's the only thing. Fortunately I have the full performance intact. The butchering on OWN version doesn't take anything away from the feeling and impact of the song though, I feel.
