Thumbs up

Man Saalam i really love this one song

The first time i heard it (Circa 1995) that semiacoustic guitar lick of the Intro (After the distorted riff) i almost felt like when i see a girl i really like

I COULDNT wait to play that part on guitar and emulate Richie´s style
of course i failed miserably but now i play it a little better

So yes its a Bon Jovi Classic for me

They played it in Yokohama in 2001-03-28 and I think the reason they played it then was because the Tokyo Road album had just been released and they played the entire album.

I guess I don't recall Jon saying that he didn't like the song anymore. If he did - that's a shame. It's a damn fine song.

One of the best songs on TD in my opinion. Musically, it's got such a distinct feel to it, that really differentiates it from the rest of the record, and from most of Jovi's canon. And I love the lyrics, but that's just me.

First These Days song I ever heard and while it's not one of my absolute favourites, I wouldn't love the album as much as I do now if I hadn't liked that song.

YAY!!! .... just like everything in These Days but Diamong Ring
One of my favorite parts is the one that is sang by Richie... awesome.
And the chorus is damn catchy too. When I found this song I played it repeatedly for a loooong time. Damn Bon Jovi that makes me think about a song I hear for like many days

So, who's the 1 person who voted Nay? Fess up.

I've always loved this song. It's got the same feel good vibe as a lot of earlier Jovi stuff, but with the layers of different instruments it becomes something different entirely.

I think it's only described as one of the "weakest" because TD is full of quality songs, but I don't think it's weak at all.

i think its a real poor song. Sounds weak lyrically and musically plus the solo is piss poor.
These days is full of quality songs but if i could lose 2 they would be S4TP & Diamond ring.

Gotta agree with you on that one, as I don't like that slide guitar stuff very much. (Sorry, Mr. Bandiera)
In fact I could get along without it pretty good.

So the solo is nothing special to me, either, but nevertheless I do love this song!
It was actually one of the first songs I really loved by BJ, back in 1995 when my elder brother played the Single in his room and I came over asking if I could borrow this Disc for a while.

I like the fact that the chorus comes along very catchy, but I guess what I love most about it is the accordion parts by David accompanied by Richies clean guitar sound.

That's pure harmony to me!

I like the song and don't agree that the solo is "piss poor". I agree it's easy to play, but SFTP isn't an epic song that requires an epic solo. It's a bit of fun!

I've heard a hundred far more complex solo's that have no structure or sense of phrasing. All technique, no soul! Sweep picking for the sake of it is my idea of a piss poor solo. This one at least has a sense of melody!
