This would help their creative input big time since Richie doesn't even want to be in the band anymore...

We've heard the live versions of THINFS...

Again, IMO Jon's acoustic stuff is the most honest music he's put out recently, some of Bridges too. Why? Because it's different and musically solid.

And I wouldn't consider my post a Richie thread. I also stated that IMO, some of the best guitar work since These Days is on Burning Bridges 🙂
Posters like you are the reason why I stay out of illogical discussions... There are factual ways of measuring the successes of songs so when you say that X song is better than Y song, it could very well be a fact and/or an opinion... You basically stated that Aftermath has the best 3 post 2000 songs in all of Bon Jovi land (including DA) which imo, is complete Bull-Shit...

And Yes, we've heard a live bootleg of THINFS but the main complaints about WAN is the Production, in addition to the way Jon sounds... People praise the live versions of Water and I'm With You but hate the Album versions... Again, you're saying that THINFS is WAN Pt2 without even hearing the final songs... Based on the 4 songs that are out plus the live bootlegs, I don't think people are being lead in that direction... As far as the writing goes, THINFS is much deeper so if your crystal ball is driving you in that direction, you might want to get a new one...

And now you're last 2 statements are contradicting your OP... Now you say Jon does have "Honest Music" and BB has some of the best guitar work since TDs... You're all over the place...

Thanks for rehashing another Richie thread...

I think New Year's Day, The Devil's In The Temple and Scars On This Guitar may end up being the best three song sequence since These Days.

If Jon has that same passion in the studio as he did with the live version of Devil, it will be my favorite Bon Jovi song since IML

It's always been a tough situation to pick between Jon and Richie. Now that I have heard all of the songs from the new album it's even more difficult to imagine Richie coming back, I mean for me this is going to be the best album overall, since TD. I am saying this because since TD I haven't heard an album with so many songs I have liked from the first listen. With albums like Crush, HAND ,LH etc. I only had around 2 songs that I instantly liked, the rest of them grew on me over time.

What I would really love to see is Jon and Richie getting back together and releasing a kick ass album with great songs and blow us all away.

I don't think anyone needs to choose between the two, just like no one needs to say x needs to back/get back y to be good again. Why can't both sides just do their own thing and not have it revolve around the other? That's not aimed at you btw.

Whether it is a Bon Jovi or Richie album, I usually love 3-4 songs that end up on my permanent playlist, I hate 3-4 songs that I never want to hear them again and there are 3-4 songs I will occasionally re listen to when I want to a big dose of Bon Jovi or Richie. Of the 3-4 songs I love, there might be 1-2 that I'd think would be good on the airwaves and often it is not the one released for radio play.
I am a little curious about the THINFS reaction mostly due to the band elements--the fact songs were recorded as a band and the fact that there are a couple of new musicians in the mix. If Jon had gone with a new producer, I'd be ALOT more curious. I still hear some of the same old riffs and lyrical refrains even tho the changes in the last three years did make the album feel more personal. I'd love for Jon to be pushed out of his comfort zone more in the process but I can see why it would be too big of risk for him to entertain a chance for failure. I wish he would consider a 6-song EP release as a solo effort or in conjunction with KOS appearances down the road. Something really different.

Hypothetically, if Jon simply stated that the band was taking a long needed break to work on some solo projects, people would most likely be embracing each album so much more instead of constantly challenging the two... THINFS would be compared to DA (Blaze is not even an option) and us fans would have a totally different perspective...

Richie along with Jon will always be one of my heroes - and whilst he was a member of the band I had interest in those solo projects - and even still have a vague interest as I did buy Aftermath and even downloaded Orianthi's album to see what she was about.

But nothing he does solo I think will ever reach the same level as Bon Jovi - I think without the band Richie is directionless and clearly lost. At the same time as much as I'm enjoying Bon Jovi's new direction - it will always be missing some magic without Richie there, and that I blame on Richie for leaving, whatever his reasons were.

It does get a bit silly though - I had a Richie fan defriend me because they didn't agree with my point of view (and that's someone I've been friends for 13 years!)
i am with you brother..
Bon Jovi is the platform that bring Richie this far, if he never IN the band at the first place..nobody will ever know him. I love his work, i bought Stranger, Undiscover and also Aftermath, and i enjoyed his songs so much BUT like you said, his level alone can not compare to Bon Jovi, it's obvious..
Fact that Richie thrown a concert instead HAVING NEW SONGS in his hand, he covered JACKO Songs??and mostly BJ song which is will never happened with his voice despite how SHORT Jon voice is and how great Richie voice is...Jon is Jon and you can not repaint monalisa though you are a better painter than the original, you just can't..I think Richie is too confident with this so called fan based that urge him to STAND ALONE..I dont think so..

do you think they can make a sold out concert in big arena?i think we all know the truth..Bon Jovi is the answer..Same goes to Jon..He own the name...But BON JOVI is different and the great part is JON UNDERSTAND THAT !
