This should have happened in 1991 already...I didnt feel like it back then, but I guess Sambora has been "standing in the shadow" of Jon since the first hiatus (90-92). There were some ridiculous comments from Jon during the time "Stranger In This Town" came out where he was dissapointed that Richie got "so much" attention...and promo tour for "Stranger.." was cut short because of Jon getting Jovi back together for KTF. So there must've be frustration from Sambora towards Jon since those days and somehow it didnt came to an end until 2013.

I listened to a interview Bobby did in June and he said that it took a year or two before Jon convinced the other guys for him to hire another guitar player (Bobby). He goes onto say that 'it was a rough road because Richie and Jon weren't seeing eye to eye. Richie wanted to see things his way and Jon wanted to see things his way.' He references this as his history of being with the band, not as a recent development that led to Richie leaving. He did say that Richie isn't in the band anymore and wasn't coming back.

For those interested, it is a 90-minute interview of Bobby's musical journey of playing the guitar from age 12 or so. He talks a lot about Bruce and Southside, not too much about Bob Jovi and he doesn't address him not playing with the band anymore. The BJ section begins at 58 minutes into the interview which can be found at https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=share&v=p1XxOAvD8ek

Sorry, but I see this album as the best since These Days. That's nonsense, Crush, Have A Nice Day and The Circle were better as a whole. And much more memorable songs stood out in them. I'm even willing to say that Burning Bridges was more interesting than THINFS.

This would be the THINFS album which we haven't heard in full the studio versions yet? We can't judge it 100% yet good or bad despite the live versions, we haven't heard the album. Come November 4th sure, but now it's all presumptuous for the sake of it.

going back in the same topic once again...some thoughts...
1.richie shouldn't leave like that. imo Richie wanted a bigger break and thought he could come back for the more prestigious bigger stadiums shows whenever he felt like that. jon and the other guys denied. jon said they never talked again, 1-2 years later he had said there was some communication as Richie has also said. Richie shouldn't bail like this but 3 years maybe jon david and tico should take an initiative and talk to the guy for old time sake, not to come back to the band just to talk .
2.i ve listened to that bobby interview some time back and here some thoughts...I had the impression bob didn't give bj the respect he should...it looks like he is a bit jealous of jons success, why him and not me shit...? jon and the band made some cheesy songs through the years but take the masterpieces away jons solo albums alone are enough to make him a legend, in fact even if he was not handsome or anything these 2 albums would give him the credit of an incredible songwriter/singer/musician.
what I m trying to say is I believe bj deserve much more respect than they get and a guy like bob who was embraced by the band maybe should have one good thing to say, bob should be brave and honest enough to accept to himself first that the worst bj song is 4 times better than any bobs song that is released.
bandiera has a nice voice, he is a decent rhythm cover guitar player but not in a pro lvl imo , and it would be nice to aknowledge what bj have achieved all these years.
3.jon and the football thing...maybe I m paranoid but whenever he talks about the 3 hard years he doesn't mention his daughter, totally understandable, and when someone mentions Richie I get the impression the failed football deal was worse for him than losing a bandmate...

As a live act Bon Jovi died the day Richie left. It's as simple as that for me.

I don't care whose fault it is or why it happened anymore. Picking sides is hopeless.

Can somebody please provide me with the link of Bobby's interview? I cannot seem to find it anywhere.

If I'm not mistaken, I think he's talking about the same one Sadie Lady referenced at the end of her post. Just above his.

It's been posted here in Bobby's thread several times.

Bobby never showed any disrespect to BJ, on the contrary! Listen to this as well:

may be my words came out a little strong, but in the first video he sounded a bit off when he had to answer about bj imo, and I ve seen many videos of him and the second video you posted is one of the very few he says sth nice about bj. most of the times his answers are completely neutral, like a job that's paying well but doesn't want o be too much associated with, anyhow I may be wrong and misjudged him
