I've been visiting this site for many, many years... Keeping up with the latest news, being exited when a show was happening and the setlist was revealed 'live' hoping for some surprises. I've been a fan since 1993 and been collecting bootlegs since 1997. Though I never registered here. Just lurking..
Yet now I felt the need to say something...
Why a thread about the worst BJ concert ever ?!? I've been listening to some of the youtube clips listed here. And yes, Jon's voice isn't what it was in the past .. But I did enjoy the clips... Are they my first pick when I pull out a bootleg? No way.. I go back to some 1995/ 1996 shows that I love.
I've seen most of the tours in Holland since 1996 and while some of them might not have been the best performances. I've enjoyed each and every one of them thoroughly.
What About Now. This is where the band is now. These Days or New Jersey will always be my favorite BJ albums, though after a computer crash, Not Running Anymore & Old Habits Die Hard are in my 'most played Itunes list'.
Let's just accept that music & voices change. I have different feelings with all BJ records. 7800 was the first record I ever bought. As a 14 year old boy I cycled 10 kilometers to buy it, because it was 5 dutch guilders cheaper there than in the store in my hometown. Is it the best BJ record? No, but I love listening to it every now and then. I probably won't cycle 10 kilometers for a new record today, but will buy anything the band releases without a second thought. Since 1993 BJ has been part of my live. I will forever be grateful for the music they made.
I can name a number of songs I don't like, yes they are there.. I will not..
So... why look at some 'bad' shows (that I can't help, but still enjoy listening to) and just focus on the Wonderfull music that they have created..
Let us enjoy the band before they become another Prince, Bowie..........
Conclusion and end of rant. Yes I love the 1988-1996 era, but it's 2016 now... For me there are no bad Bon Jovi shows, though I hope Richie comes back
