it' s a good album, very moody with low rythms, but with classics.

Why would NJ be them???? Cause they named it after their homestate??? Come on. It was what sold back then. Not more, not less. It was that time. Hairspray and pink leather pants.

I wouldn't say that These Days has lyrics with "deep" meaning, lol, but the songs have "meaning". Maybe some more than others, but then it always depends on the listeners understanding. I don't really understand "Bad Medicine", but I do understand Damned .

Not that I didn't like NJ, and still do, but for different reasons. Also, I don't think they were "trying" to be deep and meaningful. It is what it is - whatever you wanna call it.

Damned is amazing. Perfect song IMO. That's what I call meaningful lyrics. And in general TD got great lyrics. Not overblown. To the point but with some poetry in it. Simply awesome.

And yes, TD is my fave Bon Jovi record. Along with KTF.

That may have been a bit harsh. It's just that some songs try to go to a place that BJ just doesn't go too. I just think some of the lyrics are funny.
Which lyrics? "Drink out of my loving cup"?
"Drink out of my loving cup" ... Love it! Very poetic.

I think that this is almost a concept album, as the songs seem to try to link together to tell a stort, wheras others are just a bunch of songs strung together.

I like all bon jovi output(tho jury still out on one wild night as I have better bootlegs) but my favourite song on the album is a tie between this aint a love song & my guitar lies bleeding

They don't manage to be deep with this one?

Just wondering how different people can be.

I think at the time they made New Jersey, they really knew who they were and who their audience was. With their first two records, they were still trying to find an identity. They finally found thier voice on SWW which made them all the wiser for New Jersey. I'm not saying that the album represents them becasue they named it after thier home state, I'm saying that the title shows that they're proud of thier roots and comfortable with themselves.
