Something To Believe In is the best live song on OWN, and one of Bon Jovis bes songs...

Be honest! Compare the lyrics from the new record with TD.

And: In the ´90 the music they did was "real". Today they are just acting on stage. Jon always puts on a show. Compare the dvd from London ´95 with anything nowadays and you know what I mean .....

JERSEY

I hear what your saying about the performance issue - the these days tour had a more straight ahead approach....just play the gig feel. Now, there seems to be staging involved with occasional bits of scheduled shtick. Maybe it's Hollywood rubbing off subconciously on Jon, but it feels like their live show is slowly transitioning into that Vegas act they never want to become. Just my opinion.

Exactly.

To this day, though Slippery has my favorites, that song for song, New Jersey is Bon Jovi's masterpiece. I call it their masterpiece, not A masterpiece.

Yeah!!! My favorite "unstaged" moment from the These Days tour was Jon going into a crucifixion pose at the end of Hey God. Classy! And the two story tall inflatable naked dancing chicks and devils. Subtle! But yeah, New Jersey is THEIR masterpiece.

Ive been listening to it more lately and I appreciate it alot more. However I think Im the only BJ fan who isnt impressed with Something to Believe In, some of the lyrics in it are rubbish quite frankly "if i dont believe in Jesus, how can I believe the pope, if I dont believe in heroin, how can I believe in dope" wtf?

My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms I think is a criminally overlooked classic. I think its a huge song and I dont know why it never gets a look in anywhere.
