Diamond Ring has one of my favorite Jovi lyrics in it:

"Don't you know I bleed/Every night you sleep/Cause I don't know if I'm in your dreams/I wanna be your everything"

I think it is a beautiful song... it's very simple but the melody and lyrics I find very moving.. Another one I want to see live one day.

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

I love Diamond Ring. I think the claustrophobia of the writing turns it into this totally different song and I like the way it works out.

It's definitely in my top five from These Days.

One of my favorite lyrics too Lizz. That line captured me the first time I heard it.

(It's Hard) Letting You Go has grown on me tremendously. It really is one of the most beautiful Bon Jovi songs.

I agree and think it is one of the best songs they've written. I hated it until I really sat down and listened to it. I believe I heard Jon played keyboards on it and they used a drum machine? I guess just Jon and Richie recorded this song alone.

"I made this for the movie I can been seen in soon, 'Moonlight and Valentino', and it will suprise the fans. This really isn't a Bon Jovi song. You just hear me, Richie, and some electronic equipment. I play the keyboards in this song and did the singing live. It really was a gift for the producers of 'Moonlight and Valentino', recorded on a tape. A sort of 'thank you' for letting me play in the movie. And promptly the used it as a soundtrack. And now I put it onto this album too. It's funny really, originally only a few people would have heard this song. And now, all of a sudden, it's both movie-music and a real album-track. But I'm happy with it anyhow".

^Thanks for that. I think I have read that before too

I agree though - It is a really haunting song...quite beautiful and the emotion is very raw and real. I love the vocals on it.. interesting Jon recorded it live

I think that's the whole reason I like it. It's not really a "Bon Jovi" sounding song. These Days is probably the last album with Jon and his voice being at the peak. This is one of those songs that makes his vocal performance shine, without the song being in the spotlight.

the first verse of that song is incredible

it might be my favorite songwriting ever, it's so stream-of-consciousness, mundane, "oh hey I am depressed la la la" and I frigging love it

edit: just to clarify, I didn't mean "mundane" like boring, I think I more meant he's very matter-of-fact about it
